Yes, we all have to be careful with getting our babies enough food, but breast milk actually takes care of every nutrient a child that age needs. A parent that doesn't use breast milk for the childs diet(as in this case) must be extra careful.

You need not be sorry, since you are not understanding my point. I never said " 6 months old infant was not in need of proper support from parents." I only said that the diet of parents had nothing to do with carelessness the couple has shown to get their child killed.

The fact that they were vegan and were raising their child vegan wasn't the problem. That I understand. The problem is that they did not take care to ensure that the replacement diet gave the child the nourishment it needed.

You're a little off base with this statement. They can digest pretty much any liquid, but nothing other than breast milk and infant formula has the nutrition that their diet requires. An infant could not drink enough to soy milk, or even whole milk to sustain itself for long under any circumstances because it does not contain the same amount of nutrients as breast milk.

It even says in the bloody article that the apple juice acted to stop the absoprtion of the soy milk's nutrients.

They killed the baby out of bad luck from their vegan lifestyle because they fed him foods that countered each other.

Indeed.... but ignorance is not an excuse..... and ignorance is not an excuse from the law... the baby died while in their care and by their methods of parenting..... they should get the most the courts can throw at them.

If they had half a brain between them they would have noticed their child was visably unhealthy and if they cared two crap chunks for that kid they would have taken the child to the hospital..... But oh wait! They thought germs were in the hospital and would harm the child...... MORONS!
