| Hrm... Location: MN Posts: 445 | Apparently, though I haven't been able to verify this through any reliable news sources, Bars and Nightclubs in NJ, PA and IA are no longer allowed to designate a night of the week as Lady's Night where women get in free and get cheap drinks. A GUY brought this issue to court because he felt discriminated against. Now, assuming this is true... WTF? Yeah, what guy in his right mind would want to go to a bar full of women who're getting liquored up and losing their inhibitions? :) LL "Statistics show that of those who contract the habit of eating, very few survive." -- Wallace Irwin |

| Guest Posts: n/a | It's a meat market no matter what the elements are. Women drunk are just the same as ones sober. If you need to get one drunk to get laid, maybe you need to recapitulate your situation rather than depend on porking a lush whilst asking for a probable date rape charge. The only advantage I see in half price drinks for women is the men who need to feed them booze save a little money. Women are human too, if they are horny they'll go out at full price just like the rest of us men. I am against outlawing it because a bar is a private institution not a public one, private property. You are allowed in if you behave according to policy set forth by the management of said property. Outlawing it is bullshit, you don't like what they do there, go to another bar. |

| Molten Ash Posts: 53 | Ladies Night Cancelled by very presumptious "official" in NJ Heres one link to that story.. I wonder what some of the women of NJ etc think of this. If I was a woman, I woujld like ladies night, simply because it would be cheaper. I saw a line somewhere this morning, this is like strip clubs being outlawed because they don't employ ugly women. I thought that was humorous. "Study the Constitution. Let it be preached from the pulpit, proclaimed in legislatures, and enforced in courts of justice." -- Abraham Lincoln |

Technically a guy could wear a bra but he's probably not gonna get lucky (depending on the clientele). So all this law will do is make clubs more creative in their promos. |

| Pragmatist Location: UK London Posts: 1,979 | I get the feeling the guy was probably objecting to guys not getting cheap drinks as well. But I agree, thats just a plain stupid thing to do. As far as I'm concerned, to echo what ol truthy up there says, the bar should have the right to set the policy on the premises. I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me. Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime." (Ernest Hemingway) |

| Propertarian Posts: 568 | yep, as soon as people capitulated and turned private property (and all associated rights thereof) into 'public spaces' (bars, businesses, restaurants, etc) we lost alot of our freedoms. Discrimination my ass! So what... equality for all means slavery for all... how stupid are we that we 'vote' away our rights to being individuals, sovreign<sp> persons and voluntarily (well, not so much due to that beast called 'the democratic process') slap ourselves in shackles... I say, let private property BE private property. If the owner(s) want to cater to women, or gays, or blacks, or whites, or old folk - it is just plain ol' NONE of ANYONE elses business! I have NO right to force another human to do what I want them to do ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY! Come to my house, and THEN you must follow my rules... Do we have ANY chance of reversing this irrational trend? michael Take on the responsibility to be free |
