What do you think of the ending of the last episode of 24?

This picture comically portrays the fight between main character, the federal agent Jack Bauer, and Muslim Terrorist ringleader Abu Fayed.

Was Fayed's death by Bauer just? Keep in mind that a few hours earlier, he was responsible for the detonation of nuclear bomb in the U.S. killing thousands of civilians. But should Fayed have been brought to court? Or was Bauer killing him in self-defense? Was he killing him to expediently eliminate a threat to his country?

Was it too graphic? It seemed pretty weird seeing such an interesting character getting hanged, and it seemed pretty apparent that Bauer was being somewhat sadistic, especially when mentioning Fayed's brother, who he killed a long time ago. I think Fayed was one of the best antagonists of the series. But in my opinion, it wasn't too graphic. In fact, the ending scene was pretty cool, especially with the preceding infiltration of the safehouse by Bauer.

Actually, don't think this is just meant for those people who watch the show. I meant it as a general reflection on what happens in the world.
