Now, you can call me some sort of bigoted, right wing fanatic if you want, but isn't this going... oh about several miles on to the wrong side of stupid with this? "Oh the poor dears, they are taught the Holocaust didn't happen and that the Crusades are taught in their mosques completely differently, we can't offend them now can we?" If you want to lose your country, here's one stone laid in that road. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? | |

You need to learn two things: 1. Objectivity 2. Context. The founding fathers of America were not perfect in allowing Slavery to last. But in context of the times, they were WAY ahead of their times in terms of human rights and laws. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 261 | truth and knowledge shouldn't be suppressed just because there is a slight possibility it might offend someone. Least of all History as it is already set in stone and cannot be changed. at most I can be apologetic, but I cannot "change" history to suit someone else so why complain about it? The implications are clear and the folks in the UK will reap the rewards of such revisonist BS many times over. They are the laughing stock of the free world. | Altruism Assassin Location: Massachusetts Posts: 5,286 | How are the crusades controversial? It's always presented as the barbaric christians destroying the wonderful Islamic civilisation, which it was, but the Muslims were expansionists who employed the same tactics as the crusades, so it wasn't like they were unwarranted. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

| Stabbed By Satan Location: Toronto, Ontario Posts: 247 | Firstly, you shouldn't drop shit because some ignorant jack ass's get offended. What next, math? Language? This is just stupid. If they don't learn holocaust facts from the school they're going to grow up ignorant and believe it never happened because they read it on some racist website and it's the first thing they here about it. I guarantee if you do background checks on the people who did this you'll find racism. Guarantee it. | Altruism Assassin Location: Massachusetts Posts: 5,286 | What happens when they don't know about the crusades, One of the most important world changing events in the middle ages, and the holocaust, one of the most important events of the 20th century that formed the way we think today. You know what, I'm offended by the defeat of the french in WW2, I feel it portrays the french as weak and easily defeatd, It shouldn't be taught! “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |
