| projects himself Posts: 130 | http://www.againsttcpa.com I realize this is a very opinionated resource. I have read other resources as well, and I recognize the benefits on the corporate side, but I think this is a very dangerous. It is dangerous because it is on the boarder of privacy rights. I feel that this is just another negative turn since the advent of the USA Privacy Act that -to me- passed _much_ too quickly after the 911 incident. I think that they have revised the USA Patriot Act farily recently, but I have yet to read what they have corrected. The concept of devices that control or censor the public are always fought, for example the 'mandatory v-chip' in televisions that seemed to gain a good amount of momentum in the past. This is similar to that instance except with not only with what is seen, but also what is actually used [ hardware & software ]. Comments? Edit: This is about technology, but also about rights, I hope I put this in the correct section admins // if not I apologize. |

| Hot Lava Location: Spokane, WA Posts: 782 | Jesus Christ! That is some scary shit. I swear, if this goes through, I'm moving. The US is slowly turning fascist. This is another ploy to make the rich richer, and to destroy your freedom of speech. Dannyp, about the patriotic act, they're making it worse, not better. Now they can supena (sp?) documents and records without getting approval from a court. |
