Foie gras ban in Chicago is flouted

Foie gras ban in Chicago is flouted - Yahoo! News
Quote:
Evoking Chicago's Prohibition-era past, when a password could gain entry into a speakeasy, at least one restaurant is rumored to be serving foie gras to customers who ask for the "special lobster" dish.

And one place has cleverly skirted the ban by offering foie gras as a complimentary item. (The city ordinance bans the SALE of foie gras.)
i just thought of strongheartswin when i read this.
im sure he will let us know of how proud he is of extending animal rights even further, mmmmmmmmmmm yummy, animal rights

Really, SHW is all about expanding the BLACK market, because by outlawing goods or services that the market demands in large number (like drugs) that is exactly what happens.

Now we will see Fois Gras being used to equate fois gras eaters with the likes of drug users, dealers and those who speak in recognition of their rights to CONSUME in to THEIR BODIES what they wish, with respect to equal rights of other humans.

Stupid lawmakers continue to create lawbreakers / outlaws out of ordinary citizens.

I wouldn't go that far. Basically all the restaurants that I have hit that used to sell it do not anymore.

One I know of decided to say "fuck it, lets call it something else and sell." They got caughted, fined and then stopped selling it.

Fois Gras is not in high demand here in Chicago!

.

Is this not the baisc problem here? The government has forced legal establishments into a prohibition of an otherwise legal food thereby denying them from earning a profit on a legal substance in a otherwise legal market.

True, but there is also the morality of how they slaughter the animal. What's next veal?
