rap cd for kids?

So Im an intern at Fontana, and just heard that a new hip-hop/rap cd for kids came out last week. Its all the popular songs like Grillz, The whisper song, Right thurr, Laffy Taffy - but remade by kids with clean and kid-ish lyrics. I think it's a great idea because alot of kids like those songs, but the lyrics are so disgusting! Just thought I would share because it's such an awesome idea. What do yall thinK???

Which one is it? Rather ambiguous.

Personally, it annoys me when the lyrics are changed in songs to try to appeal to concerned parents. However, I support capitalism and understand a producer's wish to appeal to a wider audience. So as long as the non-watered down version is still available, I'm indifferent.

When Disney releases a rap album, we'll know the genre has passed into history.

I think that they will eventually hear the different version of the song. Possibly get laughed at for knowing the disney(ish) version and then instead of improving their rep it'll damage it.

I also think that if they want to stay on the edge and the parents are worried about clean music, there are alternative rap (aka G.R.I.T.S., DJ Maj, etc.) If they're really worried about it.

I know one family that gets the clean version of Eminem and such and eventually the kids learn the other lyrics. It's inevitable.

I thought all rap was kid music ?
"Right thur" I mean come on, no adult would utter those words.
Only a baby would mangle "right there" in such a way = )
Laffy taffy! What kid doesn't like that!

Not really. Underground Hip-hop is much more profound than Mainstream Hip-hop... However, making deliberate spelling mistakes does seem kiddy.

I think most of these rappers are high on ecstasy when they make their albums. Thats why you hear alot of weird shit nowadays. I had a friend that used to do ecstasy alot and all he would do is rap(although he sucked at it). I could tell when he was high too, cause his eyes would light up like a christmas tree. Sometimes in rap videos you see the performers wearing sunglasses indoors, which is a good sign that they are high(for example the video for the song laffy taffy, they are all wearing sunglasses for most of the video... think about it, even the song lyrics are all about taking pills). Too bad that most songs that become classics and that kids listen to and enjoy are made by people that are fucked up on drugs.

I'm pretty sure the appeal of rap to kids is that it is so unnaccepted by adults due to it's lyrics.

Too bad that conscious rap lyrics dont appeal to the general population. People would rather listen to P Diddy's nonsense("I don't write rhymes, I write checks", lol), than say someone like Big Pun("Even if I stuttered I would still sh-sh-sh-shit on you
Soon as I shitted shattered your shit is shattered").
