read my words again please. "not THAT ridiculous" the coffee stuff is silly of course but its nothing like a burglar sueing the owners of a home he was robbing.

| God is good Location: Down by the river, stealing your water Posts: 1,518 | It's very ridiculous. Sure, maybe some of them are just urban legends, but the fact that urban legends are even being made about this is reason to be ashamed, because there are so many real cases. See this list. See Allen Heckard and the rest of the frivolous plaintiffs. About a year ago, my friend was hit in a car accident and suffered some minor facial damage; she even had to go to the hospital by ambulance from the accident scene. Her lawyer said she could sue the person who hit her, but she ultimately decided not to sue because it wouldn't be a very nice thing to do. But guess what? Just a few weeks ago, the useless person who hit her sued her for emotional damage, missing work, or something like that. What an idiot! I mean, this person is the one who hit her in the first place. I hope my friend countersues that s.o.b. and wins. Last edited by Epistemologist; Jan 11, 2007 at 04:27 pm. Reason: Added Allen Heckard |

The coffee is FAR less ridiculous then the burglar story. One involves a criminal sueing the victim of his crime for injuries that occured during the time he was commiting the crime against the victim. The coffee one is simply alleged business negligance towards the safety of the coffee cup, and the temperature of the coffee. I agree it should be the customers responsibility but what can you do.
