If you really want to know, most socialists believe in the destruction of borders. How the hell is that statist?

As I said before, when my nephew came over he showed all the things praising America and what not.

Hey you and me have something in common! We both believe that the state is brutal and oppressive.

but your solution is to 1. create a command economy (?!??), which will somehow not massively increase the size of government.

or if your brand 2. Create a anarchic state, and assume socialism will take over. and we won't lose industrialization (like the middle ages, but somehowwe won't lose industrialization. and some crackpot feudal lords dont' take over. ?!?!?? )

Whats wrong with Liberty?

war and murder

merlin writes..All governments are evil communist included. Or that should man perverts all government by his greed.

Not one government is fair to its people. Nor are there any fair governments in over 5000 years of mans sad history.

They ALL are degrees of evil. They exist only to move us along the wrong destiny, some move us faster to war and murder and spiritual death than the others, but in the end they all are manifestations of the worst in man.

I have took the easy way out and only resort to flanking maneuvers and planting mind seeds. At times I feel like an ankle biting little yippy mutt, but even little yippy mutts have their day.

This topic has been dead for a year and a half, mb....why dig it up?

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Deep rock mining is not unvolconvoan, Matt. Kudos to you Merlin, for unearthing this thread.

Indoctrination is not just a youthful phenomenon, it is the means of control of the entire populace. Many institutions are involved and the results are spectacular. The best way to free your mind is web-interaction. Locate your OWN interests and research them yourself on the Information Superhighway...

The other day a kid in the day care I work at said she wanted to sing when she grows up. I asked her what kind of music she likes, and she replied that she enjoys pop and country. I asked what singers she liked, and she told me all the pop ones. I asked her what country ones she liked, and she told me she likes Toby Keith, some people whose names I don't remember and that she used to like the Dixie Chicks before 'they said mean things to the President.'

She's too young to grasp the complexities of the issue, so she decides she doesn't like their music because of their politics rather than deciding she doesn't want to support them because of their politics. It's a difference kids can't understand, and I believe it's irresponsible of parents to expose their kids to it before they're ready.

If only I could saith, so should I.

Yes, I agree and even though I am a "sometimes" conservative sometimes right wing and then I veer oft to the left on some issues, its mandatory to my mental well being to get information from all sides! That's the reason I support LINK TV (a lefty) and read obscure publication tune in to the outlaw radio FM station from the university and use the net addictively.

And thanks for the kind words Patrick Henry.

Merlin writes...I agree. I feel that this indoctrination is a given in all government education from K1 to University. The sad part is that these teachers, and administrators are fearful of any ideas that do not follow the secular leftist agenda. When one understands that we have been brain washed from kindergarten to grad school , its not surprising that most young adults and children do not KNOW that their thought processes were altered by these techniques. They (we?) are a product of the state.

mb ....I think you are correct. When gangster' rap is considered (the effect on very young minds) it is scary!

No one can ever escape the biases they grow up around. You may accept them or rebell against them, but they are always engrained. Children are to a large degree what they are made by thier parents (or lack of them). You can say a lot for personality, but personality is shaped by surroundings.

Fixed ideas are like a cramp in the foot - the best remedy against it is to tread on it.

mb...Oh, how true that is look at Charlie mansion, a product of our society. I have said this before and will repeat it for those who dont believe that environment is the major influence in shaping ALL personality traits. Give me a child while still in the womb (would that be minus 9 months?) until 16 years of age and I will give you a sadist or a saint. either one.
