So how does one escape these labels in order to be heard for what their arguments really are?
It's impossible.

Labels are too convenient and too easily applied.

They allow the mentally lazy to equate any number of people to one concept instead of regard each person individually.

I cannot accept that. If the mind is malleable, so is it the larger congregation of minds as a collective.

If it was otherwise, humanity would be(Have been? Look how far we have gone!) truly hopeless unless the minds of man were already narrowly focused towards greatness.

Then one must work to create a culture where convenience is not viewed as the ultimate virtue. I do not see how it can be done, but I am sure there is a way and I will continue to try to find it.

What if the mentally lazy od so out of their cultural integration, rather thna predisposition or choice?

If that is the case, then I think there is value in the struggle against this attitude of applying other's chosen labels for them.

I accept it because the ability to find shortcuts and convenience are hallmarks of humanity. Labels are a mental and verbal shortcut.

I absolutely agree with both your opinion and your assessment of the possibility (or impossibility) of it actually happening.

Nature vs. Nurture?

I don't know. I would opinion that it is Nurture, and therefore cultural and reversible.

That's why I post the way I post; because easy labels and extremist associations allow people to shortcut their way past expressing themselves with their intellect and not their lazy disposition.

If you want to continue this discussion, Fonceai, I suggest we take it to another thread. We're running the risk of derailing this one way off course if someone takes issue with what we are saying.

That said, I don't see why we would. We're in agreement anyways.

Women do have alot of rights.

& they complain about them to much. They shouldn't.
As Lunar said.
When girls file rape charges, everyone instantly believes what she says when she could be lying out of her ass to get back at some dude.

They complain about not getting the kinds of jobs they want.
& most of them shouldn't have the right to complain about it because most of them are just to stupid to get the job they actually want.

Point blank.
Women are made to clean.
Women are made to cook.
Women are made to have babies.
Women are made to work.

But mostly top 3.

yeah. i'm sexist over my own kind.
i don't like girls all too much.
if you can't tell.

Agreed, Zink.

But at it's core, our discussion of labels is valid to this topic.

Because of the labels of "sexism" and "feminism" and "chauvinism", equalizing the rights of parents in custody, for example, is seen as chauvinist by some, but to others it's reducing sexism.

My world must not be like your world, zink. I'm 65, and retired and I do the cooking and the laundry. My wife still works. The world of work sucks. Thank goodness I'm finished with it. Stupid bosses, stupid tasks, we all read Doonsbury. I think women carry their share of the load. As far as I am concerned, women are just like men, except they're women.
