I have friends who struggle with the exact same issue.
For what it is worth, the anti-homosexuality components of the Bible are debatable.
In Paul's letter to Timothy, he declared scripture to be God breathed. There is nothing in his writing that would suggest that he believed his own letters to be scripture. Thus, there is nothing in Christian writings that would suggest that every single component of the Bible is to be considered scripture.
Does the new testament still condemn homosexuality, if one does not consider Paul's letters to be God-breathed?
