| Molten Ash Location: ontario canada Posts: 104 | aminal lawal, a nigerian woman, was to be publically stoned for having a baby out of wedlock. a panal of judges has overturned her conviction 4 to 1 on what would probably have been an overlooked technicality. amina lawal's case recieved much media attention here in the west, and millions of signatures were gathered through amnesty international and other organizations to protest this act. this can be, however, viewed as the west imposing it's way of life and beliefs on the small african country of nigeria. what are your thoughts on the subject? were we just in our intervention? did we even have any effect on this at all? |

Refuse one and invite the other, refuse both and expect a later explosion. Refusing the freedom to influence another is a fancy name for killing. All modifications to this basic princaple only add strenght to the majority or to the minority. Therefore, elitism or majority rule are the only options... |

Here, I'll start the list; any of you with more names can add them. Pol Pot Josef Stalin Fidel Castro "Papa Doc" Duvalier Shah of Iran Mao Tse-Tung Was it Idi Amin who murdered his greatest rival and had him buried underneath his office floor? Can't remember now. But he was the one who fed people to crocodiles for fun, right? How many dictators do we allow to remain, even support, when it's convenient for us? Look at us intervening when there's evil!
