The song is all hyperbole, all about the flag...land of the free (snort) home of the brave (if you are armed with DU and white phosphorus) A better national anthem would be America the Beautiful. The reason the elitists don't like that one? "brotherhood from sea to shining sea"...see? too Commie... I have quite a few Latino friends from several different countries, and I never have any issues with any of these people. Yet somehow, it seems to me that you wish to profess your love for your new found country, you probably should sing it's praises in their native tongue, or risk alienating everybody who wasn't already one hundred percent on your side. ( Which seems to be what is happening with my opinion of this situation now. ) I guess this whole story seems like a great big sociological experiment to me. ( It was suggested by a Brit, and them prompty carried out by unknown forces. ) I find myself wondering how that guy would feel listening to an Arabic version of God Save the Queen, and if I should be suggesting that very premise to some Muslim living in England. Hey, it would only be fair. |

Our truly native tongues would be Navajo, Hopi, etc. This is a nation that only exists today due to immigration, and our forefathers brought along their native cultures when they immigrated. We are a mutt nation. The Forum Rules Radical Atheist Heathen Queer Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be. (Ashleigh Brilliant) |

Los americanos son idiotas y son dirigidos como oveja, huh? Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots. |

Let the earth's foundations tremble At the loud cannon's roar. May the divine archangel crown your brow, Oh fatherland, with an olive branch of peace, For your eternal destiny has been written In heaven by the finger of God. But should a foreign enemy Dare to profane your soil with his tread, Know, beloved fatherland, that heaven gave you A soldier in each of your sons. CHORUS War, war without truce against who would attempt to blemish the honor of the fatherland! War, war! The patriotic banners saturate in waves of blood. War, war! On the mount, in the vale The terrifying cannon thunder and the echoes nobly resound to the cries of union! liberty! CHORUS Fatherland, before your children become unarmed Beneath the yoke their necks in sway, May your countryside be watered with blood, On blood their feet trample. And may your temples, palaces and towers crumble in horrid crash, and their ruins exist saying: The fatherland was made of one thousand heroes here. |

It has nothing to do with the Star-Spangled Banner... Why did you post the translation, jose?
