Or did I miss something else? I figured that if there was an easy answer I would have heard from a someone who was quoting the Bible.
Or at least... that's what I vaguely recall, from the days I was a Christian.
Somehow I can't muster the strength to go read a bible....

He seems to be on vacation, at least as far as most people tell me. I get the impression from many religions that God made the earth, made people, led them with prophets and what-not, sent Christ, and directed the formation of the Bible.

Then He became oddly silent....No more prophets, no more revelations, no more scripture, no more guidance. Why not? This seems like a new kind of Deist religion. God guided the world for the first few thousand years, then decided to sit back and watch as we wallow in confusion.

Surely we need direction in this era, perhaps more so than in times before. Does God expect us to know everything we should do based on a rather outdated book? I bet Noah is glad he had direct communication and wasn't relying solely on stories about Adam and Eve.

Here's my question. Why isn't He still directing a church like he used to? Why would He expect us to rely on such an old sourch of knowledge?
well, to tell you the truth, God is watching, but our generation's outright denial is what is keeping him from doing anything huge in the nations. He is controlling right now from behind the scenes, doing small miracles in rather out of the way places with unlikely people. He was in control on 9/11, causing traffic jams and technical issues with the subways, causing people to be late for work or meetings in the towers, silently strengthening the will and bodies of the many firefighters who were rescuing people in the towers. the days of the outright science-denying miracles are on a recess, not to return until the end-times. but the days of small miracles in the hearts and lives of many are underway.

You'll have to be a bit more specific. I'm confused.

Let's see, Christ was resurrected and went to heaven until the Second coming. But this doesn't mean that God, or the Father, couldn't still guide people, does it?

Or did I miss something else? I figured that if there was an easy answer I would have heard from a someone who was quoting the Bible.
well, Jesus promised at His ascension that He would send the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to guide us in these days. God the Father and God the Son are busy on the biggest construction project in the universe, they are preparing to create a new heaven and a new earth, what, did you think a universe was easy to make? it does take a lot of preperation when you are preparing it for not two, but billions and billions of people. if you ask me, He is going to poll the saved people to see what kind of earth they want. hey, it is Heaven.

other radical religious people think god was in control on 9/11 by helping the planes hit the towers and pentagon. I am confused, which side is god on?

    That is not true.

I invited God to my house, and He is busy right now.

You missed that line at the end of the Revelations...

Do you mean to say that our generation is in any greater denial then the people of Noah's time or in Moses time? Miracles still happened. I think Rive hit it on the head. Even if guidance came from above, prophets and revelations in these days are often considered lunacy or drug related, even by believers. But a God that is watching doesn't seem to be like an effective God. Unless of course, he allows me to watch earth's events untangle as well.

Ehem, party at Rainbow's house! Gonna hog Him to yourself, eh? We'll see about that. I wouldn't mind some cash money myself.

well, if you want to hear the truth, those were Muslims. and allah and God are NOT the same. if you actually read the Koran, you would see the major doctrine differences.
