Although i am not a christian, i still disagree with the death penalty, for one they killer ,,,,, (or what ever they did),,,, should not have to have tyhe death penalty, for that gives them a easy way out, also it is wrong for a person to kill so i dont think it is right to hire someone to kill, thust automaticlly giving them a burden to deal with... though my reasoning can be considered un orthodox i must recomend that we not have the death penalty... ps sorry if i affend anyone for me not being a christian

I agree with death penalty but I also would settle for life imprisonment. so long as they are not on our streets, and life imprisonment is really death penalty in a more "humane" way. it is a philosophy of "we don't kill them, we just hole them up until they die." what is the difference between killing them and letting them die?

dthmstr and sheild I agree with you guys, but on that last bit of agreeing with life imprisonment. I would be fine with that other than the fact that 20 years down the road when the problem of overcrowding is way out of hand then what do we do with them. I always thought if we were at war drop them over there and then drop them a gun, let them fight for their right to be alive, then if they make it we can grant a permanent stay of execution. or a possible lighter sentence. Does that sound too inhumane? I think it would work a little bit.

now there is an old philosophy. earn your right to live through noble works. never thought of that. or you could find an uninhabited island out in the middle of the ocean miles (and I mean miles) from the mainland that was large enough and drop them off there with enough tools to build a house. either way, you get them stuck and out of the way. leave them to self government. this would leave them to figure out a way to live on their own, and teach discipline. and don't give them enough technology to be a threat.

You would think though if someone knew where it was at then they would try and go rescue them. I mean I could see that being kind of like al qaeda recruiting spot ya know?

Romans 13. Read that Chapter. That's my justification for the death penalty right there.
Kudos. I had forgotten that passage.

    Serious as a heart attack...

    ...and twice as deadly.
