But what about you folks? How have you dealt with the cigarette menace?

Yep, smoked and quit. Started again 2 years later. Currently smoke. I wouldn't call it a menace as much as an old crutch.

That poll is toally deceptive and designed from and with a pre-established agenda.
Suggesting that the ONLY reason people smoke is due to addiction.
There-by suggesting that no one would smoke if not addicted for any other - perhaps worthwhile reason.
So no matter how anyone votes they are still in agreement with your anti-smoking belief.

Thanks, Osborn. I figured you for a smoker! Anybody else?
I am not really an anti. More of a bleedin' heart, liberal sympathizer who dodged a bullet.
My wife smoked for twenty years, and after we met and started going out, I used to nag her. She quit in 1990, after I quit nagging.

Why couldn't there be a choice such as "I am well aware that smoking is addictive and a major health risk, but enjoy it thoroughly."?

That's option four, abub!

I smoked - for mebbe a year, when I went into a seriously stressful part of my life. Gave up without any issues - though I'll v.v.v.v.v.rarely grab a cigar for special occasions - which is to say, mebbe once every 2 years.
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Everyone in the army smokes. :)
Science flies you to the moon. Religion flies you into buildings.

"I smoke, but desire to quit."
And when I make the choice to do so, I hope someone will kindly lock me in a nice padded room for about two weeks and slide a tray of food under the door about three times a day. Withdrawal is NOT fun.

I can quit kicking myself so hard now. I thought I was the only one. I did the exact same thing; quit for two years after 10 years of smoking, then started up again. I'm way down from what I used to consume, but for economic reasons even more than health concerns I have to start thinking about quitting again.Yep, smoked and quit. Started again 2 years later. I smoke a pack a day and it's a tossup whether or not I want to quit. I' quit once before for a few months but was out fishing and caught only 1 mackrel that day ... and then someone offered me a smoke
Overall, I'd prefer to be a non-smoker though but not enough to really quit. (Either way they should leave property owners the ones deciding whether or not smoking is allowed on their property)
