Do they allow "asshole" or any other male equivalent to "bitch"? Thanks

Depending on context they can say fuck or shit. Still, why is "targets a group of people" the criteria for what shouldn't be allowed? In that case you'd have to ban 90% of the commercials because they constantly bash men. Come to think of it that would eliminate most of the shows too.

I don't know, why would what's allowed on television make sense anyway? TV sucks. Read a book :)

Not on public TV, they can't. I was surprised to hear bitch. But I wasn't offended as a women, I just thought "wow, we've gotten far away from portraying married couples in separate beds and not even allowed to say "sex"!

And yes, man-bashing seems to be a requirement now! IF you portray a subservient women, you are in deep-shit. But so many shows glorify the hen-pecked, castrated husband.

    Wishful thinking?

The point is do they use these words directed at or about men? I'm sensitive to actual feminist issues and to me this is not one.

George Carlin was on the other night and as usual, made several good points. It's OK to say "he used the "F" word" but you can't sya "Fuck" even though when you say "f word" EVERONE knows what word you mean. You can say "BS" but not "Bullshit", etc.

We make it seem like we are not using foul language, but if everbody knows what the euphemisms mean, why not just say the word?

Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock can yell "Nigger" all over prime time TV, but "Tom Sawyer" is banned in some communities because it dares to use it in a story about the 19th century south.

    Big Jr is watching you!

They cannot say that on regular TV. They can on cable shows where they can also say s*** and f***.

This isn't about feminism it is about censorship. It doesn't make sense to me. It has yet to be explained.

censorship has been around forever... i mean comon just to books... they fucking censor those for the stupidest things possible, and they have been around longer than tv and commercials
