    I'm tired

Getting really tired of debating these conservatives. But I love the way they can contradict themselves. For example, Pale Rider, who is an absolute anti abortion is giving out lectures on how everyone has an inalienable right to life etc etc, yet in one of the politics threads he talks of coating bullets with pigs blood used against Muslim resistance fighters et al. Where is his sense of preserving life there?

It is exhausting sometimes, constantly debating without feeling your changing anyones mind. You really wonder whether it's worth trying, maybe we should just wait till we can put them against the wall when the revolution comes. But even more irritating for me are the unaligned. I don't mean those who actively refuse to get embroiled, but those who don't care, and think politics is unimportant. Bloody cattle, they drive me mad!

It is frustrating. I know that nothing anyone says will ever manage to persuade them that they are wrong, but it is important that someone still puts up some kind of debate. If no one challenges their lies and distortions, those lies become the truth.

It is immensely ironic that so-called pro-lifers are all for every kind of death except that of a yet-to-be-formed human being. Even though I am personally opposed to abortion, I see that a potential life doesn't have rights greater than those of actual lives, and that I can't make that decision for another person.

But pro-lifer's are normally for war, the death penalty...and against all social programs that assist needy adults and the children they so valiantly defended while in the womb. As them for some welfare dollars to feed these now-born fetuses and all of a sudden they don't care...weird.

It's just all so hypocritical. I wouldn't have a problem with their stance if their lines of thinking were actually more consistant.
You got to wonder, what the heck is going through their head to get such weird combinations of thoughts. How can someone be pro life yet still support killing of others?

You've got me. A weird combination of thoughts it is. But they say they are for innocent lives, and enemies and convicted felons don't fall into that category, so it isn't completely baseless. It's when they don't want to do anything about the living children after they leave the womb that they are shown to be hypocrits. Or don't seem to notice or mind when most of the people on death row are not necessarily the worst criminals (or even guilty at all, in some cases), they just had the worst representation. Most pro-lifers aren't out there lobbying for better measures for poor people accused of capital crimes.

I was told by Pale Rider that a life is a life and that we don't have the right to end each other's life. Yeah...that's consistent...

He's very extreme on this. I hope he's not one of those who resort to violence over it - those people really take the cake. The ones that bomb clinics and kil doctors and stuff...wacko's.

That's a good one. To preserve life they must kill and terrorise...yeah, makes sense to me. *cough*

I agree. It really does not make sense to be against abortion, but all for war.

If you want the country to go to hell in a handbasket, then vote for the one who can drive you there blindfolded.

I'm way over my head in the Boiler Room, on the
'People who threaten to kill themselves for attension rant' thread.
I find myself trying to stand up for human rights all the time. It's like being surrounded by gleeful gangsters and when I get a whiff of Nazism - I have to walk away to stop myself from posting insulting replies. I know they're just trying to get me mad - and they do.
Sometimes I want to bang my head against the desk - because I simply can't understand the conflicting posts some people put up.
I haven't had a great education and I'm aware of that - but I hate to be addressed like a simpleton just because I care about human life.

Don't worry about it Trent, a lot of the posts in there arn't particularly serious. Besides thats not a debate thread, just a bunch of whingers. Pretty hyppocritical, given the nature of the opening post.
