Despite my intention to boycott the Olympics, in a moment of weakness, I watched the Men's Singles Tennis final, and I've got to say... wow. I don't think I've ever watched a tennis match in which the best player of a generation (if not one of the greatest ever) was so roundly destroyed. I was expecting a closely fought match, but Federer was utterly trounced in every aspect of his game by a Murray who was really burning on all cylinders. I watch tennis a fair bit, and I don't think I've seen Murray play so well or Federer so completely unable to generate a response. Before the match, as stated, I thought we were in for a nail-biting closely contested affair which could go either way, and most likely to Federer. But this was a total shocker. Hopefully Murray can produce what he did this tournament in future events, he will be unstoppable.

Society may be formed so as to exist without crime, without poverty, […] no obstacle whatsoever intervenes at this moment except ignorance to prevent such a state of society.

Looks like Murray got some sweet revenge on Federer for his loss at Wimbledon: an Olympic gold medal in front of the home crowd. Well done, mate.
