Actually I generally find tv news dull, and that it all too frequently covers bull shit non-stories about non-stories. All channels are too entertainment oriented.
Okay. Provide evidence that Obama was in the Communist Party then.

Regarding gay marriage, I think he always was in favor of legalizing it, but was unwilling to come out of the closet about that until the poll numbers showed it wouldn't hurt him much.
To me that is not the trait of a true leader. A leader must stand by their convictions, even unpopular ones or they are not leading.

Where did that question come from? Oh, never mind. I see now.

A leader must also recognize when the time is right to fight and when the fight would only deplete capitol (political or otherwise) and not result in advancing the just cause. Sometimes, good and reasoned leaders know it is best to chip away at the opposition's fortifications in preparation for a time when the chances of success are much higher.

A good leader chooses his battles carefully and values concrete results above having no secrets. A good leader realizes his ability to do good is constrained by popularity, and therefore values the political game as a venue via which the power to do good or evil is dispensed.

There is a difference between having convictions and forcing them on the majority population. Obama may have remained firmly convinced that Gay marriage should be legalized but did not feel that America was ready for it to be publicly legalized.

Clinton tried to pass something far more ambitious than Obama care, and that was 20 years ago. The Democratic Party hasn't shifted to the left, you've shifted to the right. Reagan passed amnesty, multiple tax hikes, and tried to negotiate complete nuclear disarmourment. Until very recently Republicans backed rather than opposed campaign finance reform. George W Bush argued against cutting welfare in 2000. Then he tacked on a huge social program in the form of senior drug precriptions. The Republican party is newly radical; the Democratic party has been the same for decades.
No, the Democrats moved rightward too. While Bush added welfare programs and Reagan raised taxes and etc, Clinton was busy signing welfare reform that gutted the program, as well as various free trade agreements that helped lead to our current economic crisis.

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

They moved to the right in an uneven fashion, but I can agree with that assessment.

Everything moves "to the right" in an uneven fashion. When you create and exaggerate a class-based society, there will be turmoil. Also, much of what they argue -- and try to impose -- does not have much relevance to real life. I'd rather develop my own ideas freely.

In fact, there are valid reasons to compare so-called "communist" governments to right-wing ones. Certain differences in theory don't mean entirely different realities. Power is power.

Actually I don't mind Democrats...traditional, meaning middle American kind. Its primarily the Politicians, and liberals claiming to be Democrats that I can't stand. As for the race card, why is it left wingers are so narrow minded as to believe that just because I or any other disagrees with Obama or his supporters that I or they must therefore be a racist?
It's not mere disagreement. Looks more like near-pathological hatred to me.

But truth, Hajjaj was convinced, held many layers.
