He is a righteous judge whose justice and holiness require that he punish sin. All of us have sinned and deserve death but because of his mercy he has given us the opportunity to receive forgiveness by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. You should take advantage of this opportunity before it is too late.

I see the god of Abraham as more a homicidal psychopath. If he can't act unrestricted by his obviously flawed interpretation of "justice and holiness" then he's certainly not the all-powerful god Christians want us to believe he is. He won't even accept responsibility for his own role in creating a flawed humanity. It's like he created a wine glass with a hole in the bottom and blames the glass for not being able to hold wine. The god of the Bible is either insane or malicious and in no case deserves to be called righteous. He is a righteous judge whose justice and holiness require that he punish sin.
And we do all die, even the most blameless among us, the newly born. It's the result of biology, not sin. "Sin" is just a misnomer for the human condition. All of us have sinned and deserve death...

The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it.

Your entire argument is irrelevant to this discussion. This thread is about the atrocities of God of the Bible, not about salvation. You are like a broken record who says the same thing over and over again. I am not seeking salvation from an imaginary wicked dictator who engages in genocide.

Your god sets up the rules, sets up the world, makes us supposedly in his image, then charges us with the sins of two people who make the mistake of *knowing things*, and throws us into an eternal torture dungeon if we dont beg for his forgiveness, and you think that that is merciful or just? what a twisted view of mercy and justice you have there.

He owns you so he can judge and kill you. Wonderful reasoning.I can't speak for you but I have never done anything in my life that deserves death. All of us have sinned and deserve death but because of his mercy he has given us the opportunity to receive forgiveness by putting our faith in Jesus Christ.
I truly appreciate your concern Theo and I have no doubt you truly believe it but IMO you are stark raving mad on this issue. You should take advantage of this opportunity before it is too late.
Religion is poison because it asks us to give up our most precious faculty, which is that of reason, and to believe things without evidence. It then asks us to respect this, which it calls faith. - Christopher Hitchens

Human life has value to us because we are humans and we naturally value our own existence. Do humans have value to an ice worm, to the lion, to the planet Earth or the rest of the universe? No, I don't believe we do. Humans haven't been around all that long in the timeframe of the planet, and if we were to disappear tomorrow life would go on, the universe would continue to exist. Our egotistic assumption that we are somehow vital to the universe isn't grounded in reality.
