Well, what do you think? Is homosexuality/same sex marriage being promoted by the TV networks? If so, do you think it's a good thing?

It's a cartoon capitalizing on a social issue.
This is new?
Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

In before all the Christian newspapers and websites tell the nation to boycott television because it supports homosexuality.
Oh wait, they already did.
An old episode had Harvey Firestein as a major guest character. You don't GET any gayer than that so I shouldn't sweat anything that comes after.
Unles it's on cable.
This is another example of the normalisation of homosexuality in the community. If you normalise it, more people will try it and therefore it will become acceptable as a lifestyle choice. Morally it is a symbol of corruptness in society.
You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
Or get married and wish you were dead.

The way I see it, the direction society is going, religion will be considered "obsolete" in the not-too-distant future (few hundred years perhaps), and we'll define our moral standards my something else.Quote by: Seeker_Of_Sins
Might as well get it over with. It's inevitable.
I think it's almost totally dependent on the sophistication of the populace. I used to say that if I could go back a thousand years or so in time, all I'd need is a couple of bic lighters, a good set of walkie talkies and a polaroid camera. I'd be a god to them.Quote by: Gregory
Arthur C. Clarke put it this way: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. "

If you are aruging that open displays of same-sex affection are likely to change people's sexual orientation than pehaps you have more to think about than the simpsons. Most people who are homophobic are so, because they are insecure in their own sexuality. This is another example of the normalisation of homosexuality in the community. Thats a typical allegation used against anyone who dares to challenge the break down of moral standards SVMc. Homophobia is a fear of homosexuals. I have no fear of homosexuals and I am secure in my hetrosexuality. Perhaps you should research the issue at hand rather than making ignorant allegations that you have memorised from your 10 hours a day watching queer eye for the straight guy.Quote by: SVMc
The normalisation of the homosexual way of life began with the Stonewall group, was progressed by gay pride parades and has now infiltrated our schools, our laws and our TV sets. It is a normalisation of the homosexual way of life. It is no coincidence that since this worldwide attempt to reprogramme society begun, the number of reported gay people in the community has risen from under 2% of the population to over 7%

The simpsons has always tackled social issues with its usual blend of humour and usually "liberalism".
Society may be formed so as to exist without crime, without poverty, […] no obstacle whatsoever intervenes at this moment except ignorance to prevent such a state of society.
Robert Owen
That is the most absurd thing I think I've ever heard. Like saying liberalism started with Bill Clinton. The normalisation of the homosexual way of life began with the Stonewall group

Oh what a shame, gay people now have the confidence to come out of the closet. I'm sure you'd rather them just become raging balls of anger or collapse on themselves in depression through supressing who they are.Quote by: Seeker_Of_Sins
