Um NO. The Constitution strictly forbids redistribution of wealth period.
Oh, really? Which clause or Amendment prohibits redistribution of wealth?

But truth, Hajjaj was convinced, held many layers.

I am not sure what she means that the "constitution strictly forbids redistribution of wealth". Taxation, monetary policies ,welfare, nationalization, charity, divorce and tort law are all examples of redistribution of wealth and are completely compatible with the constitution.

Do you need me to explain the entire political process, or what? Maybe it wasn't intentional, but your suggestion that I can't back up my "claims to some degree" is simply ridiculous. It's just common knowledge what supporting a government can mean, and what it usually entails.

The so-called "spam quest" would be a valid way to find out what political parties are up to. Or you could pick up a newspaper. What I said can cast a large net, really. It was avery general claim, and easily observable.

You said: "a government needs to be bolstered, and it needs laws passed to bolster "

I want to understand what laws you thin a government needs to bolster.

Yes, I know. The basic functions of government are all, to a certain extent, "redistribution of wealth." The right tends to use the phrase "redistribution of wealth" as a catch-all to refer to policies they don't like.

Of course, we are drifting off the topic of this thread...

It's not what I "think a government needs," really. It's just a matter of what governments claim to require. A government claims to require taxes to pay for its own infrastructure, for example. If you don't pay taxes, supposedly you deserve to pay a big fine or even go to prison. Need I really go further here? This is some pretty basic stuff.

It is not a matter of understanding taxes and such just what you meant. Obviously a government needs taxes, it not strike me you were trying to convey something so basic.

I never intended to be too complex there. My point still stands as noted, however basic it may be.
