    A Newbe says HI All!

    Greetings

I’m a newbe here and I look forward to presenting my two cents worth of opinions and engaging in some intelligent debate.

WARNING, I hate Political Parties. I think Republicans and Democrats are both authoritarian violators of the Constitution and I think the American political election system is a corruped scam owned, operated and controlled by the duopoly right and left.

Democrats/leftist/neo-liberals/progressives think I’m a rightwing knuckle dragging Republican, and Republicans/neo-conservatives/BIG government militarist think I’m a leftwing pansy, flower child. I consider myself to be a constitutionalist/classic liberal/classic conservative/small l libertarian.

My present day political heroes are Ron & Rand Paul, Andrew, (The Judge), Napolitano and John Stossel.

I believe government produces three major products, more government, national bankruptcy and wars. Correct me if I’m wrong

    First of all....

    WELCOME

I just returned from a long absence and have found the board a little slow. Maybe some new blood will help.

I am somewhat conservative and somewhat Libertarian.

I agree both parties at the federal level are a mess and need to be overhauled.

If you think they are volating the USC, then you probably have some ideas on what the USC says. I always enjoy that part of a discussion or debate.

Welcome. Count on my opposition on a regular basis. I disagree vehemently with all of your heroes. Let the games begin!

    Welcome.

I agree that american politics suck, though it is a very good example to the rest of the world as a "what not to do" in politics .

I absolutely loathe american libertarianism. and I am wondering, is libertarianism with a small any different from libertarianism with a big l or is it just that you have difficulty writing a big l?

As for your last sentence, if you had qualified it with the word american then I would agree. Otherwise don't imagine that what is basically treated as a religion rather than politics in america is the same elsewhere.

Hello and welcome to Volconvo. I have a lot of sympathy for libertarianism, mostly on social fronts. Economically, I think your policies are incredibly outdated and would probably cause the downfall of American society if implemented across the board -- although certain ideas like sales taxes replacing income taxes could be modified into effective policies.

I'm an evil leftist flower child or whatever, and I think Volconvo is a bastion for leftism of all its forms (from moderate centrist-leftism like lsbskins1, to libertarian socialist like soylent, to normal socialist like barts, to social democrat like me). Knowing that, please count on me responding vigorously to you.

Government doesn't really produce the things you say it does, at least not intrinsically. You can literally trace a trendline showing the direct (read: not inverse) correlation between government and health, wealth, and overall well-being of the populace. Of course, that trendline falls apart once you get more government than Norway or Sweden...

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

I learned a couple of years ago that "Libertarianism" lags on
    several social fronts.

Sorry I'm a little late to the welcoming party.

I appears as though you and I share many of the same ideas.

I would invite you to read my blog. Tell me what you think.

I agree the bigger gov. gets the worse every thing becomes.

I am quite sure that you and I will have some fun.

More government is the product of society wanting more services from the government. Bankruptcy is, essentially, due to poor management and society wanting more services. Wars are caused to human behavior, it is essentially aggression on a larger scale.

Those were generalizations. I'm a bit busy now, and it could be dealt with more appropriately on other threads.

The best type of correct is technically correct.
