"I wish I was as cocksure of anything as Tom Macaulay is of everything."

Well if I remember my ' ancient ' history correctly...the ancestors of the Scots were actually from Ireland, and the ancestors of the Irish are actually from around Portugal and in about 1000 or 2000 BC were forced to sail up the coast to what is now Ireland and pushed the ancient Scots over to northern England...Ulster was colonized by Scotland, not England. England has very little to do with the ongoing battle, thats more a religious thing. But of course you knew that.
so essentially it wasn't colonized by Scotland...it was reclaimed.
Being part Irish ( n' part Scot ) myself I studied Irish ( and Scot ) history...and the Irish are not originally from Ireland.

Well thats one way to look at it.
You know, Paul, Reagan proved that deficits don't matter. We won the mid-term elections, this is our due. : Dick Cheney

The Inbetweeners is hilarious, MattW and I watched all three series in one marathon watching session over Christmas.

I like American humor...but then I like most funny stuff no matter what it's origins are. As a side note: Canadians have produced some of America's funniest people.
I'm not into trash humor though...rather listen to George Carlin talk about swearing then listen to Eddie Murphy do nothing but swear.
George Carlin - funny
Eddie Murphy - not funny
George Carlin - intelligent social humor
Eddie Murphy - unintelligent street hack

Four of the funniest guys who have ever lived were Buddy Hackett, Don Rickles, Jonathan Winters, and John Pinette.

Society may be formed so as to exist without crime, without poverty, […] no obstacle whatsoever intervenes at this moment except ignorance to prevent such a state of society.
Robert Owen

Wrong on all counts. Peter Cook. End of story.
And an honourable mention to all involved:
YouTube - Blackadder - Lord Flashheart Training School - Private Plane

I saw some of his comments last night.
If a person can't laugh at himself...I have no use for him.
British humor to me is:
Monte Pythons Flying Circus
Absolutely Fabulous
Mr. Bean
Black Adder
Prince Charles...
Great gags all of 'em...
