Is Pole Dancing Too Sexy For The Olympics?

I think it's an awesome sport and should be included in the Olympics. How is it any different in "sexy" terms as those who are swimming or doing gymnastics?

I don't care about the "too sexy" issue, but at what point do we stop including every activity that could even be remotely considered a "sport" in the Olympics? The Olympics are beginning to resemble the Guinness World Records, full of so many random behaviors that it's in danger of becoming pointless.

I would contend that pole dancing is more a performance than competition. "Sports" are supposed to include an element of competition, are they not?

How soon will "Finding a job" become an Olympic sport?

I dunno. But Chinese chess has become an event in the Asian Games. *Sigh* Will this never end?

LOL, anybody else wondering how this got started? Somebody had to look at a pole and think it'd be pretty cool to strip down to a diaper and writhe about up and down the thing being careful not to impale oneself. Interesting though and obviously requires great strength. I score it 8.7 out of 10.

It seems to require a different mindset, and I'm not thinking that way. If one practices it, and has the proper understanding, it could be seen as good, clean fun. It looks potentially dangerous, like there's maybe a six foot drop either side.

Boy, though, I have to admit feeling a little "gay" after watching even part of that (not that there's anything wrong with that).

    Great video Maryjane

Definitely a lot harder than a lot of Olympic sports...and I imagine more than a few broken bones practicing to get that good.

True, but I can't get around those bikini shorts (or whatever they're called).

I like the idea of chess-boxing. I'm not good at chess, really, but I like how it's set up; After I make a move, I go hammer someone in the face with my fists. It's refreshingly intelligent and mind-numbingly stupid at the same time.

Lol, I'm glad somebody else feels that way too. I thought it might just be me.
