OK, so I take it that Jason is trying to unload this site, I'm assuming because he simply doesn't have the time for it...which I fully expected, and why I suggested, several times, he have an on-site admin to handle things.
So, what are your opinions on the sale of Volconvo?

The rules ask that moderation issues be dealt with via the PM system and not brought up in the open forum. I don't think this qualifies as a moderation issue.
I don't recall much controversy when Sean sold Volcanvo to Jason. This sort of thing happens to many websites. I don't know that there's much good in speculation, it's more a "wait and see" situation.

I might be if the price is right, and the proper arrangements could be made. It would depend upon what he thinks a site with an Alexa ranking of 526,874 is worth.

I agree there's no point in speculating about what the new owner might do with the site...but I was just looking for member opinions on the sale. I have seen sites improve with new ownership, and sites lose half their membership over a disagreement with new management over the direction of the site. The notice at the top of the site merely invites members to talk with me if they might be interested. It is no secret that I've become much more busy and have had less time to spend with Volconvo. If I feel someone else would be a better owner than I, it would be right for me to pass it on. That's all.
And Diogenes, it is not possible to assess a website's traffic objectively unless someone actually have access to internal site statistics. Alexa does not, and therefore cannot.

True, it's just a guide. Alexa admits right in the FAQ's that it's not accurate for sites over 100,000. But for a site that doesn't gauge traffic directly like Quantcast it does a pretty good job...in most cases. So I'm assuming you're just considering it at this point, and haven't made a concrete decision. Or are you just testing the waters to see what kind of response and price you might get?
