Positive. Whilst I have worked for the Daily Mail, I'm not, in fact as stupid as the average Daily Mail reader, journalist, or for that matter, editor.

While it's true that muslims has a higher natality than the average population, I think it's due to the fact that there is about 150 million people today who are named Muhammad, which means 1 in 10 muslims, which means 1 in 5 male muslims. Meanwhile, traditionnal names in western culture are a mix of biblical and vernacular names: we just have a greater variety than muslims.

True if all Muslims are in perfect lockstep naming their sons Mohammed. Which I doubt. (What about Ibrahim, Aziz, Karim and whatnot?)

If a single Muslim name is really No. 1 in Britain, then all I can say is "Jesus Murphy!!!".

Mohammad/Muhammed/etc are far more similar than henry and harry. They sound the same, for a start.
