But you thank Zee for his comment? Proper procedure for finding a cat? What's wrong with you? RCNE, is there a procedure for finding my keys?Originally posted by Mia,
Comp, your response was stupid.

I've lived for about five to six years in Pheonix, and I'll be there over the weekend, but I really don't see how I could help.

sorry to hear about your cat.. but i can't do anything way over here.

If I didn't state this at the begininng, I meant to.Originally posted by rcne,
I don't want to sound harsh - but the title of the thread was 'Missing Child', and you are talking about a cat.
If my dog came up missing, I'd check with the neighbors and post some notices in your community.
Plus for a cat - I'd leave food, water and catnip outside my back door.
Hope you find the cat.
I was using the term child 1) to draw attention to the thread, and 2) because I have no actual children.
My 13 year old cat is loved by me like a mother loves a child.
I don't mean to sound harsh to you either, but I am aware enough to realize all of the methods you suggested and had already done them.
In Texas, there are other procedures, through various agencies, that will do more and better things in addition to those you mentioned and I already did.
I was looking for what those procedures are in the area I now temporarily reside in, as they are different from state-to-state, and even city to city.
Sitting down and calling took valuable time.
If there had, in fact, been someone in or from this area who was aware of the procedures I was seeking, they could have helped save a ton of time by sending me directly to the right agency, or what have you.
That was the reason for my thread.
Thank you for your good wishes and hope that she be found! I appreciate that! :)

Where is 'way over here' for you? And what, exactly, is a 'left-footed ninja', please?

hehehe, mia is living proof of my 'couple adopt cabbage patch doll as son' thread
You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
Or get married and wish you were dead.
Local SPCA, Humane Society (SPCA first), neighborhood flyers, Newspaper (some have free lost pet classifieds). Every town has a few local cat and dog rescue outfits. Try the Web. Google your local area web sites. There are a lot of little local sites which may be helpful. Most importantly, talk to your neighbors (ESPECIALLY the local Kids) and have a photo with you. Old cats don't usually stray TOO far at first so that's actually your best shot.
If I think of any more I'll put them up, but that's about all I can think of. I wish you the best of luck as I know how you feel. 2 years ago I had to kill our 16 year-old cat (more a family member than pet) and I know how tough it can be.

Hi, I'm new here. Mia invited me. Her cat is very special. I know this from meeting her.
Those of you trashing her for this thread are being very rude!
