My daughter, Chili, nick-named Missy. (Or missy-moo, sometimes) is missing.

She is a red Persion. Not pure-bred, I guess, as she does not have the squished-in face that most persions do. Well, she is pure persion, her pedigree says so. (That part confuses me, but not my concern right now).

Is there anyone here from or in Arizona right now? I knw the procedured in Texas but not here.

Sorry to put the topic in here inappropriately. I am worried sick and don't have the brain to post it correctly.

Any info/advice would be VERY appreciated.

She has no front claws, has no idea how to survive outside, and is elderly (13 human years = elderly for a cat.

She is orangy-colored, even though officially her breed or type is called 'red'.

She has a tag with her name and my cell number, but no one has called.

    :(

I think what I wrote was pretty clear. What you typed, Comp., was not.

Was there supposed to be some words before the question mark?

    Perhaps your computer malfunctioned?

I thought this was about a person, but it's about a cat. You're looking for your cat on a messageboard?

I lost my keys a few days ago. I have a spare car key, but I don't have a spare house key... Anyone from San Diego know where my keys are?

The best procedure to locate a missing cat is to blanket all the Asian restaurants with flyers offering a reward double the amount of the highest menu selection. Or maybe the cat will come home on her own. Good luck!

    Thanks, Zee.

Comp, your response was stupid. I did not ask if anyone had seen my cat, as your little sarcastic 'analogy' rant indicated.

I am out of town and unfamiliar with the procedures in this area.

It is perfectly reasonable to believe their could be people on this board who do or have lived in this area, and who therefore might know the procedures OF this area.

Why don't you pick on someone your own size? I'm out of your league, buddy.

I don't want to sound harsh - but the title of the thread was 'Missing Child', and you are talking about a cat.

If my dog came up missing, I'd check with the neighbors and post some notices in your community.

Plus for a cat - I'd leave food, water and catnip outside my back door.

    Hope you find the cat.

I concur. I had to re-read the first lines several times because I thought your daughter had gone missing.

    I thought this line...
    She is a red Persion.
was you being non-PC about your Native American daughter. I thought you just misspelled person And then you continued about your "red person"...

Not pure-bred, I guess, as she does not have the squished-in face that most persions do. Well, she is pure persion, her pedigree says so.

I think I saw them by the 15 and 56 junction.

I'm still at lost. You've probably got a bigger chance being hit by a meteorite than a Volcon member finding your cat.

Thats your best shot. Hope they find her before the coyotes and bobcats. I used to live in AZ, even major cities are in the wild, I guess it may have grown since I was there. You might put in an Ad, I found a red chinese chow, in Phoenix, OMG ! Can you imagine all that fur in 110 degrees? Definately a house dog. I loved that dog, wanted to keep it. But, I checked the paper everyday, because it was the right thing. Maybe someone else is doing the same with your "gato". I will pray for your friends safe return.

I find it disturbing how we can treat pets better than humans, billions of dollars are spent feeding and pampering them which could go to help one of the 2 billion people living in poverty.

It's the has-anyone-seen-this-paperclip-it-has-great-sentimental-value phenomenon. We humans are capable of investing considerable emotion in inanimate objects, let alone our fellow sentient creatures such as pets. When it comes to two billion ill-nourished people, however, we simply lack the imagination. They remain an abstraction. Yet when you actually see street kids in the Third World you kick yourself for not adopting each and every one.

I was strangely moved by the recent death (I suppose) of the cricket in the flower box on the balcony that sang every night all summer. I know how that sounds, but there you are. Yet I wouldn't hesitate to crush a cockroach. And I'm not, I'm sorry to say, a vegetarian.
