Oops..sorry USA. I kinda hope you're right re the England - Germany game, I'd like to see it be that close and some pundits have even predicted an England win. It's "live" here at 1.30am on Monday morning and it's tough on a work day.. but ah what the heck..
And you saw this story right?

Football fans in Germany have turned to an unexpected source for guidance at the World Cup.

After successfully picking Germany's wins over Australia and Ghana and their loss to Serbia, Paul the octopus is backing the Germans over England in the second round.

Given the choice between German or English containers, both with mussels inside, the eight-legged guru went straight for the container adorned with the German flag.

His keepers say they don't know where his football knowledge originates, and that he can't be accused of bias, as he was born in the UK.

lol no I have not heard of that one. I did hear that Beckebbaurer has been pretty hard on the England team and has now said sorry. As a Scotsman I thought he was far to soft on them.

If I was Swiss now I would be really upset.
Oh well, it's in keeping with the grand Swiss tradition of qualifying for the World Cup, having an early success or two, then blowing it.

Almost the opposite of Scotland when they get there. Scotland will lose to Iran and Algeria then only have to beat Italy 10-0 to qualify and we end up winning 9-1.

That was the first match I've actually watched from beginning to end.

I was bemused by Ghanaian theatrics (being carried off the field on a stretcher) to waste time when they were leading in overtime. But I guess the Americans would have done the same if the situation had been reversed.

Why they can't stop the bloody clock for this kind of thing is more than I'll ever understand.

But yes, it was an exciting game and both teams played well.

That ball was 100% over the goal line. Why do they put blind referees on the pitch?

    For epic justice.

Revenge from 1966. Romania had a similar goal chopped off in a previous competition.
