Oath Keepers prep lawsuit against NH bureaucrats
After using Oath Keeper affiliation as one excuse for taking a baby, New Hampshire's child protective division is now the target of a planned lawsuit. Oath Keepers is a group of current/former military/police who pledge they won't follow unconstitutional orders.

I think I went to the same middle school as the guy in that lawsuit. No, really. Right area, right name, plausible appearance. He was known as a drug-addled bully who was basically always in trouble and I think he was held back a couple of times. He was a legend in the school program for troubled kids.
So, I wasn't entirely surprised when I found this document:

My god, it mentions that he was blind in one eye? It has to be the same person. Even if I haven't seen him in a really long time and even if he grew up to be an Oathkeeper and an asshole, I finally can say I know someone who got national press coverage.
The more you complain, the less I care about your problems.

I almost posted about the one area on the citation that noted the Oathkeepers as a reason for taking the child, but I'd had seen other inklings that the Oathkeeping aspect was not even necessary as there was plenty of other problems with the family.
Be best to leave that guys family troubles out of this and just deal with the Oathkeeper concept.
I'd had two buddies at work that told of their experience in the Marines during the 'Nam era when they were polled, asking if they would fire on their own country's civilians if ordered to. They both said they answered yes though they WOULD NOT SHOOT their countrymen when ordered. They said they knew what answer was expected and they gave that answer. Nothing was ever said of Oathkeepers.
I just got done watching an old Orson Welles movie last night. Man in the Shadow. A very applicable-to-the-thread's-topic plot to how despotic regimes can co-opt good people to do evil.

Yeah, I think a lot of ppl are interested in the Oath Keepers after the publicity over John Irish's baby. I don't care if he got in trouble in high school. They had no reason to take his kid. They gave it back, thankfully. Now I hope he breaks The NH govt. with the lawsuit.

Yeah, I happen to live in New Hampshire...the 'live free or die' state, and this action by the democrat run legislation here is horrific. I scanned a couple other stories throughout N.H. similar to this one and I noticed out in Keene, N.H. the cops came in to shut down a boy scout fundraiser on private property. These scouts had this fundraiser for the past 4 years without any trouble.
The problems the scouts and the Dover couple with baby Cheyenne have are similar to the problems Christians have with an overbearing ACLU, in the way they extend their powers to usurp our freedoms.
All this side bar crap about the father is irrelevent to the main issue of showing just how screwed up any and all agencies of our government are and have been.
