    More Obama Delusion: Record Unemployment

The Labor Department said the unemployment rate was the highest since June 1983 and payrolls had now dropped for 21 consecutive months.

    U.S. Sept non-farm payrolls plunge 263,000 - Yahoo! Finance=

A volconvo search of the phrase "shovel ready" an review of past threads since the Obama extension of the Bush TARP bailout / Economic Stimulus brings to mind the Obamanites' consistent drumbeat in response to criticism of the govt spending:
...that it wasnt a "bailout or hand-out to the rich" but rather a budget appropriation for countless federal and state "shovel-ready" projects that would not only provide much-needed infrastructure improvements, but also provide rapid employment for all kinds of displaced workers from all fields, especially "minorities".

Well.... with record unemployment...where's the beef?
Every state has legions of overpaid transportation directors, civil engineers, road departments, city planners, etc etc etc ad nauseum who get paid to write reams of reports and project proposals to justify their existence whether they are ever fundable or practicable---obviously all the federal govt would have had to have done was request from each state their top priority project proposal and directly fund it with a federal grant (kind of like was done with Citibank and Obama's chief campaign benefactor, Goldman Sachs).
It wasnt done, and the Obamanites are mute about it.

As soon as Obama came upon the national scene, I've kept my "shovel ready" but it was for the ensuing bullsh*t now obvious to anyone chosing to remain objective.

Where the goldarn hell was your shovel during the Bush years?

If US unemployment is at the highest level in decades, it's very precisely because of the make-the-rich-richer policies of potentates like Dubbya.

No, Obama hasn't done nearly enough. He's appointed foxes like Geithner and Summers to guard the henhouse, and they've handed piles of public money directly to their friends on Wall Street.

It's sickening, I agree, but nothing compared with what went before.

I don't know what people are complaining about.

BHO claims he "Saved or created" 1 million jobs since he took office.
    USA Today

Since they fail to ever disclose exactly where these saved employees are, other than a few targeted government people (Of course) I suspect another lie - and continue they continue the illusion today.

He also claimed by rushing a 3,000,000,000,000 USD spending bill it would prevent runaway unemployment. No time to read the bill, just pass it to save unemployment from possibly exceeding 8%.

    We are approaching 10%.

I suspect the government shovels will hit the ground about election time next year, allowing congress to claim runaway spending has worked all along.
Never mind they have already outspent the last administration's 8 years by double in only 10 months.
Never mind the CBO projects double National debt in about 10 years which doesn't even account for National health care, free college tuition, free day care etc etc.

All administrations are perfectly happy to boast and praise themselves if things turn good. That is nothing new. What is new, is this administrations default scapegoat about "The last administration", deflecting any responsibility away from themselves.

I hereby predict in the 2012 elections, the administration and people who support them will still be blaming the previous administration for the rotting quagmire BHO and his runaway spending and flood of worthless printed money and thus the inflation congress will crate.
Let alone the flood of new taxes such as Carbon, VAT and every other tax scheme they will invent which will be imposed as a burden against struggling U.S. families for decades.

Yes, that too will be all GWB's fault.

GWB made a lot of mistakes, created a lot of horrific problems and I believe the worst president in all U.S. history up to Jan 20,2009. Can anyone cite any previous administration which publicly blames virtually everything on their immediate predecessor?
Yes there is a mountain of inherited problems, but that fact is nothing new to almost every administration.

The question remains, how long will it take for people in mass to realize runaway government spending, taxation schemes and corruption is the result of all administrations for the past 60-ish years - And this one is no different and on a rail to be much worse.

    Ronald Reagan.
I find that highly doubtful. Do you have any reference?

According to Reagan, America's problems were all due to Big Government and certain people (guess who) being Nervous Nellies militarily. [This was between bouts of telling us that trees caused pollution and how he'd foiught his way ashore on D-Day....¨].

But hell, Georgia, you're the one accusing Obama of blaming everything on Dubya. You can start by providing a source for your claim gimme-a-break.

I would like to add a little something to this statement here. Although Unemployment is at 9.8% Nationally on the Record, off the record you can assume that its more like 16%. The reasoning behind this is that not everybody who has lost there jobs due to layoff and such has decided to get another job or file for unemployment. People who are in the postion to by layed off and not work (whatever the situation) will not bother trying to find a new job because they do not feel like they can or even should bother looking for a new job or file for unemployment.

Or the go onto the black market, which suits employers, who don't have to pay any side contributions.

Or they accept, for lack of anything better, part-time "employment", which takes them off the statistical ledger but doesn't pay the bills.

In any case, there are plenty of unemployed people not being picked up by the statistical radar.

Yes Really, in a nation of of 300 million people there's no reason the federal government should be spending more than, say, $300 billion per year.

Considering we could double that just from our current military spending, I'd say that's a tall order.
