This pisses me off, because of the fact that I go through year after year of college and all that I see on T.V are complete oafs making huge amounts of cash. It seems no matter how stupid you are all you have to do is know people/have the looks that hollywood (sp?) wants.

Why does this piss me off? It pisses me off because I have to work my ass of just to earn enough to afford a house, while some black guy singing about killing people and robbing banks is living in an ocean-side mansion driving their highly-expensive sports cars around.

Well, people demand these "stupid people" (ie. we're more interested in singers talking about killing people than some accountant or lawyer).

However, I can see you are pissed about it. Sometimes I wouldn't mind if they banned all music, or only paid actors crappy wages (I don't mind crap actors, s'long as the plot is good).

Why are you concerned with it though? Just focus on your life. Nobody is perfect; do you know 99% of actors earn less than $20K a year? Just focus on your life, focus on what you do, and do your best.

Roosevelt: "Do what you can, With what you have, Where you are."

Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you.

Its all luck, fate, and occasionally skill. It only hurts those who allow themselves to be changed by the whims of others.

    Castille, which Roosevelt said that?

Or they wouldn't feel like such a victor-it's arrogance that makes us avoid considering how lucky we are.

    So it goes

not arrogance, but virtue (in the greek sense of proficiency)...

train for years and become highly skilled in your area far beyond what others may do...

you don't get a gold medal because of luck...

it isn't bragging if it's true...

Artists have a tremendous amount of ambition. That’s why they are where they are. It’s extremely excruciating to struggle without being able to pay the bills (under the circumstances that they didn’t have inheritance; they are pretty much paupers). I don't believe in chance, either. The world can either mold you, or you can mold it.

Destiny is just a scapegoat that we use to transfer our own wasted ambitions to, so we can wake up in the morning and not go mad.

I hate that Paris Hilton slut that's on the news like every day - she's a good example of this. Hilton was already rich (heiress), yet now she's getting all kinds of recognition and even MORE money all because she made some crappy porno that's conveniently found its way around. -_-

I think rappers are the worst, though. They get their money by rapping about gangs/hoes/money and how horrible the ghetto was that they - living in some multi-million dollar mansion in Bel Air - are no longer a part of. Then they waste thousands of dollars by buying the STUPIDEST stuff; like closets full of rare sneakers they will never wear, or $1000 bottles of champagne they just waste by pouring all over the floor. Just think of how many charities or benefits those millions of wasted dollars on sneakers and champagne could have gone to. *sigh*

Oi, you must be a red!! Showing concern for your fellow man/woman!! :o

Equal distribution of wealth will never happen as long as capitalism exists, so just get over it.

    ...?

Oh, I'm sorry - I was under the impression that this board and topic were for ranting! I didn't realize anything I said would be picked apart and horribly misconstrued by an anal-retentive individual such as yourself and butchered into a totally speculatory assumption as to my views upon wealth distribution and capitalism in this country.

Sorry, let me act more like a girl and not complain at all:
