I imagine after a while of avoiding sex for one reason or another, that once you hit your 30+ age and still a virgin, it's like being institutionalized at Shawshank..... before you know it, you become acustomed to it and afraid of anything different.
Maybe it has to do with thinking you'll be made fun of, or that you missed out and not as good as any of the partners he or she may have had in the past...... whatever the reason, I imagine it's possible one could get that way.

As a father of two pre-teen girls I would have to say....ABSOLUTELY! Unwanted pregnancy is the first thing that comes to mind...I can think of about 6 other reasons off the top of my head...Is there any objective reason why virginity before marriage is still considered a virtue?

In a sense, it wouldn't be too far to stretch a hypothisis that it would alter females in a similar fashion such as speeding up their development.
