I watched a movie about Howard Zinn. At one point he claimed the socialist life would be one where a person worked for 2 hours a day and enjoyed himself the rest of the time in leisure activities. I was making a bit of fun about it by recalling a miner buddy Frank who had a similar thing going by only working 3 days a week because he just couldn't make ends meet working only 2. You had to know Frank. And you had to know the superintendent Bud and how mad that would've made him.
Alas, my talents are for nought. I'll not quit my day job. Oh yeah. I'm retired. I've got Zinn's socialist paradise beat all to hell.

I figure you've a socialist dream from reading your posts. The bible thumpers facing death have hopes of life after. My friend Frank had a dream of working only 2 days a week. I have the dream of working none. I've realized mine. Frank was dreaming till he died. The thumpers dream till they're dead. And that leaves you, Grandpa h. Don't you hope or dream of anything?

End goals are people who long for unchanging conformity. I try to live in the moment. Not that anything particularly grand happens in my life, mind you.

Turning the phone off eliminates a lot of nuisance. When I'd have a day off at home, it seemed there for awhile, there was more demands for my attention than when a belt was down at the mine.

The theists attempt to convince their flock and convert others that there is scientific evidence for the Spiritual worlds, is nothing more than a strategy to rule over others. Those at the Discovery Institute pushed the school board in Dover, Pennsylvania as their proxy. This, in the manner of the Roman dictators and the National Football leagues who rule and manipulate their gladiators into battle in their respective arenas to give meaning to the lives of the masses.
Intelligent Design, that Satan inspired golden calf, exemplifies theists' efforts to persuade the masses by scientific authority of the righteousness of their rule as the leaders of the way to God's glory.
