She obviously viewed her title as platform from which to spread her politcal beliefs. Her employees thought of it as a job. She wasn't doing her job, so she got fired. Now she will claim that she is martyr.

She may or may not have viewed her Miss California title as such from the beginning. But after losing Miss USA under such controversial and high profile circumstances, and after receiving such massive praise, support and attention from the religious right, one might suspect she saw an opportunity for her 15 minutes of fame, and it didn't lie with being a relatively unknown Miss California waving and smiling through an unending series of meaningless chamber of commerce and trade show conventions.

Can't say I have paid much attention to her subsequent career but yes I remember those photos.
