I used to be a Christian. I have done my homework for many years. There is simply no way for me to buy into the notion of a Christian God.

I am Agnostic. I am not opposed to the notion of a God. I just cannot believe in that which is not apparent. IF there is a God I cannot imagine it being ANYTHING like the Christian version.

Christians don't know God anymore than you or I do.

I like when people talking about needing God- as if those who believe in God do so simply because they need him.

Faith is the belief in the unseen. It is NOT as you have stated, belief in what you know isn't true.
The word "unseen" implies that sight is the only source of evidence. This is, at best, a poor word choice. I'm sure you mean unsupported by evidence, not merely unseen.

In any case, to believe something that is not supported by the evidence is to hold a belief with reckless disregard for the truth. The distinction between not caring about the truth and actively seeking a falsehood is no more than one of degree. It's like the difference between firing a gun into a crowd without caring who gets hit and firing it so as to hit a specific person; either way, you're shooting into a crowd.

Sounds like they think they need to believe, but they're mistaken.
