    Opposition wins Zimbabwe assembly

BBC NEWS | World | Africa | Opposition wins Zimbabwe assembly
Zimbabwe's main opposition party has won a majority of seats in parliament, displacing the ruling Zanu-PF, final official results show.

The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) took 99 seats, while President Robert Mugabe's party polled 97.

With presidential election results yet to be declared, the MDC said its leader had won, but Zanu-PF denied this.

Meanwhile Mr Mugabe's ambassador to the UN told the BBC the president had no intention of leaving the country.

"Robert Mugabe is Zimbabwean," said Boniface Chidyausiku. "He has lived his life to work for Zimbabwe. Why should he choose another country?"
Astounding. Zimbabwe is actually managing to oust Mugabe.

Zanu-PF gets only two seats less than the MDC? Is this a credible result?

Given that the presidential results have still to be released and Mugabe is pouring his thugs onto the streets, I have a feeling it's not looking good...

That will likely only cause more violence, as people will be outraged at the act.

Then shoot them too, if their outraged at thugs being shot, then they are obviously siding with them.

No, maybe they think it's, o i don't know, an overreaction? Like, would you be pissed if people were being KILLED for crimes like stealing a wallet or a car? I'd be outraged. Death is too much of a punishment for such a crime.

But these thugs are killing and torturing people, they are not stealing their wallets, so why be outraged if they are killed, good riddance to the scum, bury them in a land fill.
