I would say there are the greatest in different categories...you cant compare all the accomplishments of all the people becuase its like comparing Apples to Oranges...
    Literature:
    James Joyce & Ernest Hemingway
    Music:
    The Beatles
    Science:
    Einstein
    Civil Rights:
    Rosa Parks
    Government:
    Teddy Roosevelt & Winston Churchill
...and that is jsut to name a few...

"For a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."

    -Winston Churchill

im surprised that mother teresa hasnt been mentioned more. she sacraficed her entire life to help to help the poor and diseased in one of the most horrific neighborhoods on the planet. I was thinking bill gates because of the amount of money he has donated to charity, but since he still has more money than they entire world combined, for him donating $40 million for AIDS research is like the rest of us giving away a penny.

    Oscar Romero hasnt been mentioned

We're looking at the world through the barrel of a gun,
    are we ready?

    This is a silly topic.
Of course the greatest person of the 20th century is me >:)
(or, you, if you are "me.")

had a brain freeze for a while...

    the greatest? simple...

float like a butterfly, sting like a bee...

    Muhammad Ali is the greatest

"I really like this jacket, but the sleeves are much too long..."
insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results...

Alexander Fleming, b 1881 - d 1955. If Einstein counts, Mr Fleming does, too.

. . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.
