Because we're on Volconvo? I suggested earlier that gymnophobia was pointless.

True, but when you are not satisfied with members os Volconvo then there is no other way but to have a personal experiment to get the result finding yourself whether gymnophobia was pointless or not !!!

Let take it coolWhat I meant was that we're here (on volconvo) to debate about why the people are afraid of seeing the neighbour naked, why it is taboo and immoral, not just saying it's like that because the people want it to be like that through a democratic process or whatever (ever had a referendum about it anyway?). What I wanted since the begining of the thread was to know the reason why the majority wanted it that way, but nobody really gave an answer, most just yelled stuff like "If you're not happy join a nudist colony" or "because I don't want to see your dick!".
I did have "personal experiment", and yes I think gymnophobia is pointless. Now what about you?

And what was the reaction of your viewers in the first place, leaving your conclusion.
Frankly, it is valid point, when there is no taboo of similar looking nose why then for dick !!!
still my coclusion is evolved culture !!!

Frankly, I'm at the age where "seeing my neighbor naked" bothers me. Male? Don't care. Female? Depends upon who it is. Under 30 it may be an interesting package but the interior is mostly brainless and shallow. That's an overall: not an "all," observation. I guess I'm saying is what's under the skin: in their heads, is far more interesting than packaging... whether we're discussing daily/political/social events or topics... or taking a relationship to a deeper level. Once those hormones stop flowing it's a whole different crap shoot. I know... there's a lot of humor in that last sentence: gross, sexual and otherwise. I'm just avoiding it.
I had what I would refer to as "gymophobia" when I was four... the first time I went to a Y with my Dad. I got over it quickly. Seems to me it's mostly a maturity thing. (BTW, whatever posts there have been regarding that topic, I haven't read them. I haven't visited this thread in a while. So don't assume I'm insulting anyone by making that statement.)

Part of it has to do with the cultural/social rules of a society.
Every one has different morals/values (although, there are some universal values/taboos.....but I don't think nakedness is one of those). For example, I'm sure you've seen pictures of women in African cultures go top naked. I know there exists one culture where they only thing the women wear is a piece of string around their waist/genital area (and if you take it off, they would be as upset as if you were to take off the clothes of an American/European/whatever woman).
I think some nudist communities exist in the US, though. It's all about cultural norms. If you don't follow the rules, it just means that you're that much more deviant/hostile to these rules than the average group member. Perceived threats to the structure of these rules are likely to make others go "hey...".
Sin is salvation. Without "sin" there wouldn't be a concept for "purity" and without a concept of "purity" one wouldn't be able to enter "heaven."

Yes...
Ah, but isn't interesting that societies focus so much on all this that, in the long run, means little... when there are so many other, more serious, deviations from the norm we should spend more time attempting to squash... oh, let's say "serial murderer," or "child abuser," or...
Some might claim that the less serious deviations, when prevented or discouraged, prevent the worse kinds... yet I've often noticed that those who deviate in mild ways are far more strict when it comes to more serious matters than those who are bothered by their more minor "problem." (After all, if we see someone nude and we treat it in an adult manner, the harm is really not there... except if the person is intentionally attempting to force some upon us.)
Certainly this says something about human nature... not quite sure what.

Then again the more 'liberal' and 'tolerant' views on human behavior have led to sometimes fuzzy ideas about forgiveness and rehabilitation and taking care not to offend rather than focus on removing the violent from among us. "Child abuse" which has not been acceptable for many generations in our culture has been redefined to include speaking sharply to your child or giving him/her a needed swat on the bottom while the same child may be subjected to multiple divorces by parents and/or parked in child care facilities that might or might not provide necessary nurturing and guidance for that child. Also permissiveness that is standard now would have been considered child abuse a few generations ago.
Culture is funny stuff and much cannot be explained by anything other than pressure exerted by sometimes the majority, and sometimes the loudest or those with the most persistent lawyers.
I think Nerdvincent won't have his 'why' answered when it comes to things such as definitions of decency, culinary taboos, and expectations within the social order.

Too bad. So what's stopping me now? No definition of decency, no indecent exposure. I'm freeeeeeeeeeee!

No, but really, I'm tired of the society, a blind society creating useless, outdated norms and proud to keep them warm and strongs until stupidier ones take their place. When I say society, I say the peoples, the mass, the ones who don't think and follow blindly, the ones we can manipulate and thus manipulate "democracy".
If the Moon or Antartica were a bit more clement, I'd settle right now just to do my jogging naked, free.

Geez you don't need anything that drastic. Just buy a place with a big back yard with a high fence around it and jog naked as a jaybird to your hearts content.
But don't despise the shared values of the society in which we live. Those values, however much there sometimes is no clear reason for them, keep us human and civilized. Without them, the world would be a much less pleasant place in which to live.
