Why are people this way? Call it civilization or call it whatever you want. We don't live in mud huts. We don't live in a jungle. We aren't savages. Clothing and a reasonable social code of decency keeps us one notch above primitivism.

A republic in which the people elect those who will make the laws that society will live by is far more free than a country in which anarchy rules. We agree to abide by certain social standards because those standards do protect and preserve our unalienable, Constitutional, civil, and legal rights as well as preserve our peace and quality of life.
We do not want public nudity because most people prefer to see people clothed. It is as simple as that. There is no law against your being nude in private or with other people who like to be naked. But most people do not want to see you nude, and as that does not violate any of your unalienable, etc. rights, the majority should prevail in that.
The majority also prevails in that we Americans do not eat dogs, cats, or horses out of cultural sensitivity while all can be desirable delicacies in other countries. We all drive on the right side of the road while in Europe, everybody prefers the left side of the road. We teach our children to say 'please' and 'thank you' and 'excuse me' as appropriate because that is part of what our culture includes.
Those who find our culture displeasing should move to a place more accommodating to their tastes rather than expect the majority to accommodate the minority on such matters that do not involve individual rights.

OK, I've stayed out of this, but I'll take a stab at answering you Vincent.
It's about about health, and ones own perception of ones health. Young healthy people don't consider the implications of having the sick, and elderly among them not knowing when to stop engaging in such behavior.
The human body can become quite a disgusting thing.
Just imagine a senior citizen, who would normally be inclined to wear a diaper, deciding it was too hot that day, and deciding to walk to the ice cream stand, only to have an accident, and let a little runny poop out in the line at the Iice cream stand.
That's a scene most of society would rather not confront.
Haha what an exemple, but we must stop putting it worst than reality. Of course I understand those case (periods and that), but as I said earlier I'm not talking about prohibiting clothes, but to stop prohibiting nudity. I don't think that a gal having her period or a senior with such problem would do her jogging naked, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't forget to wear protection.
