    Sustainable living

I found an interesting "game" on the internet the other day. Answer a few questions and it will tell you how many earths we would need if everyone on the planet lived your lifestyle.

I scored 5.4 earths, mostly for my eating habits (I'm a fat ass). It brings up a few interesting points, and I'm wondering what some of you score.

That strikes a chord if its accurate and depending on the conditions it assumes. Everything was good until I hit the food section (It scored 5 and was the only thing above 1) and I'm pretty much a veggie who eats a bit of fish. Of course, I could eat less (seeing as I have a bit of a hollow leg) but I'm skinny as it is - a buck sixty at 6'1".

Is this saying that there's just not enough food to go around ever? Or just given the current conditions?

I believe it takes into account the current conditions of food, including the fuel needed to get it to your fridge.

According to the FAQ, it's based on this: Ecological Footprint Quiz

The FAQ can be found FAQ | Consumer Consequences | Sustainability Coverage From American Public Media.

    Seems like eco-propaganda to me.

According to the "computations", it would take 2.5 earths for everyone to live like me, but, the majority of my score came from my "number of cups of coffee" I drink. Before the coffee selection, I was at 1.5 earths.

Looks like a high school presentation, and I doubt there is much value to it.

My states average "electric, gas, heating oil" prices were WAY off.

I scored a 2.1 and was also staying around 1 until I got to the food section and it was cofee that really killed my score. Not a very good survey, too much missing. For example, surely the fact that I cloth diaper, practice elimination communciation, etc would effect my score.

    WOO HOO!!

    Carrie Spooner!!

What are you doing married to a guy like Doug???

    Back on topic...

I scored a 3.3 because of the commute to and from work.

I should re-do the numbers based on where we will be living after our house is built.
