Sure they are, intentionally. That is their point. They don't like standing in line behind idiots who cause delays. Next time you go into a "fast food" restaurant, observe how many people, after standing in line for several minutes, decide that "may I help you" is their cue to look at the menu for the first time.

Or in the supermarket, just watch how many people, after unloading a huge cart of food and watching it be rung up, seem surprised when they are asked to pay for it. Then comes the rummage through the purse for the cash, credit/debit card (best) or the check book. It doesn't ever seem to occur to anyone in front of you (or at least in front of me) that he/she is going to have to pay for the purchases, and to use the time while the purchases are being rung up and bagged to get out the money or card, or fill out the check with everything but the amount.

It really isn't that "fast food" restaurants are so slow. It's a matter of the idiocy level of most customers. First you wait until you are asked before you look at the menu to decide what you want, and then you are surprised when you are asked to pay.

Delays aren't usually caused by the fast food establishments, they are caused by the customers themselves. Probably, the ones who cause the delays are the ones who have the most mouth about how they were inconvenienced.
    LOL funny but true.

My favorites are the people who get up to the ticket counter at the airport and have to think about it when they are asked if they have been in possession of their bags and if they were the ones who packed them.

I wouldn't do it because I want to support Visa or credit companies.

I would do it because of the convenience.

With money you have to have someone there to count it and make change.

With a card you just swipe.

If there were cards that were tied to an account which was your personal gold account (something like an egold.com card), those would be fine too.

It's just the cards I'm after.

It's all going to be cards in the future anyway, whether you like it or not.

    It's just too easy.
Yeah but people have been saying that since the early 80's and money is still used.... in fact I use bills and change quite often..... you avoid service charges that way.... why get charged for up to $3.00 ($1.50 from your bank and 1.50 from the company that owns the interac machine)..... why should we get charged for using our own dam money?

Until service charges and that sort of crap disapears, I won't support any total conversion to plastics.....

and changing everything over to plastic won't help those who have no credit card, or credit, in some situations.

Oh yes.... those are the best.... lol.

As it goes for me.... I'm very punctual with almost everything I do.... I come to work on the button, someone wants to meet me somewhere, i'm there usually 30 seconds before the due time..... and when it goes for shopping in gerocery stores or fast food places.... before I even place my order, or have all the food rung through, I'm already waiting for the employee to take my money/card so I can pay for it and leave.

I'm not a dilly-dallier, and when I notice that employees in a store or resturant are being slack ass.... I don't forget.

Just like the job I have.... regardless how cheap they pay you, or how much you hate the job, you're there for a reason.... to do your dam job.... and yet we got these fools in there who drag themselves over to the freezer, yawn, slowly grab the bag of fries.... saunter over to the fat fryer.... stop for a second, and then start talking to buddy what's-his-face about the dance at school the other night..... laugh it up, start to slowly trickle some fries in the pan, just to kill more time on the job, and do less work until they get home.....

I swear if I owned the magic employment wand.... I'd fire all their asses on the spot. You want to bitch and moan about life to your firends.... do it at school or at home.... other people don't give a rats ass. They hardly like the food as it is anyways, we don't need the experience further ruined by slack asses.

Oh yeah, and I believe I got food poisoning at MacDonalds about 3 or 4 times.

Everybody pretty much knows my dislike for Bush.... well MacDonalds is pretty much right up there with him...... only MacDonalds had more opportunities to kill me the Bush has so far. :(

Yea that is smart, CC only cost the vendor 2.5 - 4% per transaction.
Obviously not a problem as every fast food restaurant in the nation accepts them.

Not too mention make it less convenient for the non-CC customers.
If you don't have a bank card, I don't want you eating at my place.

You'll just slow everything down and get my employees hands dirty by making them fumble around with your paper and metal.

You only get those charges when you use an atm that isn't owned by your bank.

And some banks don't have those charges even.

and changing everything over to plastic won't help those who have no credit card, or credit, in some situations.
As long as you have a checking account you can get a bank card.

    That's all that's needed.

A guy goes into a MacDonalds and orders a Big Mac and an order of fries. The clerk responds, "Do you want our regular fries or would you prefer them hot and fresh?"

I think its the perfect example of sheeple not really being able to connect the dots.

I hope if I ever open a business, dissatisfied customers use this tactic against me. They may be slowing the process of sales, through the use of extra time counting money spent, but the fact is, you are still spending your money THERE, and all that money still spends.

    THAT'LL TEACH 'EM!!!

    ROFLMAO

If you were really upset, you would stop going there, but obviously you can't make yourself suffer THAT much for your cause........

    how sad.

Actually, if it takes them enough time to count the money for your one order that would normall take the same time to ring through 3-4 other people in the span of the day, that would be a small dent.... not a big one.... and I imagine the high school kids who work there really care about the tiny profit loss for MacDonalds......

Although I like the idea and thing their point was made, it could have been better made in another method.

Your bank sucks. My bank doesn't charge anything and refunds up to ten times a month if another bank's ATM charges me.

QFT... The only people who don't have cards at this point are losers and kooks.

Speaking of people with no cards...
