Ok, we've gone three pages, so is it ok to now mention that bush junior is the absolute worst, easily, of all the presidents we have had? No one else even comes close to how bad he is. If this nation survives him, I think his record as the absolute worst will last for generations, although PIAPS might give him a run for his money.

While I agreee in principle, you must admit that most of Bush's transgressions probably would not have beeen possible without FDR, and the other authoritarians setting the groundwork for him.

I figure it was Congress that laid all the groundwork for Bush's excesses. They DO have the power to rein in an out of control president.

The Democrats are supposedly now trying to change the permission they gave Bush to make war a few years ago. Watch how THAT works out.

no, it won't be ok for another 20 years. I said we shoudl wait a while because i know it will happen because partisans will shout about him, we can't know how "good" or "bad" he is until things work out.

so no in 20 years you can come back and say "bean I told you he was the worst presidnet ever!" and i'd say ya" but wait another 8 years..then i can tell you how bad hillary was"

The 2008 elections are in 20 years?

What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?

True, but the Executive Order is the order that makes the machine move. It is the "valid" excuse in the courtroom.

Not if it clearly oversteps the president's authority.

Won't Warren G. Harding and James Buchanan even get an honorable (or better, dishonorable) mention in this thread?

I mentioned both of them, they're easily my first and second, well, maybe someone else sneeks in at second.

Ah sorry, I missed that. Credit where credit's due, and all that.

During the last 30 years, it is certainly Bush the junior. May be he is the worst ever. I expect he would end in court of war criminals.

I don't, U.S. presidents have done far worse things, you just aren't aware of them. Bush is a straight edged guy considering what's happened under other president's watch.
