Because this is a free country. It's a free country because our military has fought and died in countless wars to keep it free.
How much tax do you pay? You call it free? Do more people need to wash it in blood? If so, the terrorists from Langley are up to the task.

President AWOL's henchmen can arrange more blood in keeping with his blood oath in the Skull and Bones Death Cult.
There have always been taxes in an orderly society. There were road taxes and poll taxes and sugar taxes and tea taxes, the latter said to be why the Revolution was fought. Not true, but the Boston Tea Party has been glorified. It was because of the stamp tax (Act). Not postage stamps. Stamps affixed to every saleable item and taxed for which the King got his share.

Free means the freedom granted in our Constitution. There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits the government from requesting taxes to maintain an orderly country. It was an ok deal when the states did it. When the Federal government got into the act, they in essence did the same thing to us that King George did. I mean the King of England, George, who was in power at the time of the Revolution.

Well, just ask Jackney Sneeb about the Constitutionality of our tax system...

Besides VX, whay are you so in love with the human suffering our taxes enable?

They separate functional families from spending the necessary time they required to meet the emotional and academic needs of their children when over half their life's blood and sweat is given over to the taxman.
What's next, the right of Primae Nocte the peasants endured in the movie Braveheart?
Or what about the festering cesspools of human suffering taxes enable through the creation of "public housing" and all the unnatural conditions and sociolgical ills our programs cause?

Remember that "The most effective and efficient means to
making human beings "human" is the family"

Something our unconstitutional budgets do nothing but destroy.

How does any moral person work in any capacity for such a system?

Please let's not do the tax argument again. There are at least 4 threads devoted to that.

Being a free country doesn't mean we let anyone in - those known to belong to a terrorist organization should not get visa's and/or citizenship, should they?

Wouldn't that be a pretty obvious component to the war on terror?

President AWOL? Sigh....

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

Do you think it might be possible that the average Iraqi citizen could actually hate BOTH saddam and the U.S.?? Do you really think that Iraqi families are going to be happy that we are doing the killing instead of saddam??
I said that they did nothing to Sadam they will not be any more effective against us. What in the hel does that have to do with the POTUS? You have no idea what I think of Bush, I have not posted anything on the subject. At least not in the last six months or more, and it is obvious you do not remember those.

Whoever wins the Nov election is likely to inherit a big mess, not to mention we the public who will suffer the attacks.
Nobody should be surprised if this is exactly the real reason Bush "throws" the election.
Look at it this way: If its true that he had nothing but ulterior motives all along: avenge his father by capturing Saddam, setting up his oil buddies, enacting tax legislation to aid the rich, and guaranteeing huge increases in aerospace/military contracts...
Then why would he want to inherit the grief to come?
Who knows?---The way Kerry pledges to "stay the course" it may well be that he's already been told, "Look pal, you get to play Prez next, provided you let the american people know nothing changes as regards the play already in place, insofar as it effects our interests...
If Bush and his regime in fact do have the kind of power and capabilities to effect its wishes they way people who would believe all the other things I mention in this post, then wouldn't he be marshalling all sorts of forces better in advertising, books, media, and even his own speeches (he can pull off a decent one if he has to) in order to win?

I thought he should have help off on announcing he'd be withdrawing the troops to avoid such a perception.

I fear you will have more because they believe they got their way on that one.
Yes but the withdrawel of spanish troops was one of zapateros campaign pledges Way before the attacks in madrid

Patriot act X won't do any good - it's not really aimed at terrorists. If it were, why do we let so many come into the country to begin with?

The Muslim Brotherhood, a known fundamentalist terror group, has been run out of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and other Arab nations. But we give them cover here.

Why is that?
Because this is a free country. It's a free country because our military has fought and died in countless wars to keep it free.
In america your free to do anything the government allows you in law to do the problem is there are so many restrictive laws{ excuse me here while i light a joint of my latest weed, legal to smoke here in spain in your own home, possesion is not illegal but sale is} freedom is when YOU decide whats best for you as long as it harms no one but you

Hey, man. Orrin Hatch has sponsored an amendment that could allow you to be President of the United States of America. I like your style...

No one has answered me as to why our freedom means anyone can come in. We have rules for who we allow to immigrate here. Shouldn't "not a terrorist" be one of them?
