Atherosclerotic disease regression drug in phase 3 trials

Found this for anyone who is interested in technology which can be used for life extension.
If they put this on the market as a supplement I would be buying it for the rest of my life.
Its a drug in development called etc-216, although apparently a supplement called serrapeptase MAY do the same thing at the moment. I'm taking it in any case.

Esperion Therapeutics was acquired by Pfizer back in 2003. Looks pretty good. I wish I had owned some before the acquisition.

I'm watching another biotech ArQule (ARQL) which is developing a new cure for cancer by activating our cells' own checkpointing mechanisms. Pfizer is one of the major direct holders.

Indeed, you are into playing the stockmarket then?

In the meantime, keep knocking back that cold-pressed olive oil and red plonk.

Yep. I used to do research everyday but the past year have been spending too much time with girlfriend to keep up as much, so my gains aren't as good. How about you?

Back on topic... I don't think it's a good idea to do nothing preventative and wait for the superhero drug to save us. We should look more closely at family medical history and adjust lifestyle accordingly.

My dad had to get a double bypass a few years ago and then a pacemaker. I changed my diet to vegetarian and got more regular in yoga. I've noticed much better health since then. I now weigh the same I did back in high school and recently got blood tests done and everything is looking good.

Researching the stockmarket currently. I am thinking of giving the daytrading game a go specialising in the NASDAQ. But I will paper trade for a year or so first to give myself a good understanding, Im in the tech industry already so I understand what a good deal of the companies do. I also agree with the proactive changes in lifestyle, but I hope for a few super drugs along the way as well.

Good idea. I did some paper trading for a while before I got into it, but then I started trading a tax return for real just months before the stock market bubble burst earlier this millenia. I saw it coming and went bear too early, got margin-called on a heavy short position, which decimated my position. After making other mistakes, my portfolio was from 2500 to under 400! I learned a lot and turned that 400 into 5000 in 3 years. I know, it's still SMALL but someday...

Now back on topic. One time I was telling someone about ArQule's cancer answer at a bar and the guy got really upset. He had a sore spot about drug companies making profits.

Should drug companies profit when they find "the cure"? Is this stealing money from all the poor sick people? I see it this way: they try and fail a lot, at a big loss, before they get the right drug. They have to recoup this and fund more R&D.

I don't mind them recouping and making some profit. The money gets put back into more cures! What I have a problem with is a US company that offers the same product as a MUCH lower price to other countries. Why should US sick people bear most of the burden?

If things weren't so regulated, a person could mail-order same drugs from, say, Africa. That would force US companies to level the price a bit, IMO.
