| Igneous Magma Posts: 649 | As the yin to the "best invention" yang. My vote (even worse than the A-Bomb) is the automatic answering machine. Give me the time when if a business wanted you as a customer they had to answer the phone. Worse still is if you have to call some beaurocrat. I am waiting for the statistic of how long the average person spends "on hold" during their lifetime. :) Protester against the culture war!!!! |

If a kid breaks a vase, just say "I'm a victim mummy" and she'll hug you. Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you. |

If those people weren't Japanese. . . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. |

And the Japanese still worship their war criminals (most were never put on trial), thus in China many people still worship the bombings of Japan. | Pragmatist Location: UK London Posts: 1,979 | Still trying to justify hideous crimes with other hideous crimes I see....it doesn't work that way Castille. You cannot JUSTIFY injustices with further injustices. An injustice is wrong to be sure but to commit another injustice does not solve the problem or make it better in any way. It just compounds and escalates the problem even further. You can't fight fire with fire. I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me. Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime." (Ernest Hemingway) |
