As the yin to the "best invention" yang.

My vote (even worse than the A-Bomb) is the automatic answering machine. Give me the time when if a business wanted you as a customer they had to answer the phone.

Worse still is if you have to call some beaurocrat. I am waiting for the statistic of how long the average person spends "on hold" during their lifetime. :)

The A Bomb was a great invention. It has preserved peace between superpowers for the last 40 years

The television. It turned Americans, once known for their pioneering spirit, into a nation of slobs.

Also, "mind diseases" are the worst invention of humanity. If a kid breaks a vase, just say "I'm a victim mummy" and she'll hug you.

But it's kinda hard to distinguish the non-combantants under the nuclear fire, eh?

In China it is the Japanese invention of karioke or KTV as it is called.

Fire and money have caused a lot of trouble since they were invented.

There's no such thing as a bad invention. The qualitative label "bad" is reserved for how the invention is used.

Well those Japanese killed 20 million Chinese (civilians), so its sort of payback in a way. And the Japanese still worship their war criminals (most were never put on trial), thus in China many people still worship the bombings of Japan.

Still trying to justify hideous crimes with other hideous crimes I see....it doesn't work that way Castille. You cannot JUSTIFY injustices with further injustices.

An injustice is wrong to be sure but to commit another injustice does not solve the problem or make it better in any way. It just compounds and escalates the problem even further.

You can't fight fire with fire.

I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me.

Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime." (Ernest Hemingway)

I think the invention of a "liberal media" is one of the worst.

The Americans killed at least 2 million Vietnamese during the genocide in the 60's and 70's (lord knows which were actually fighting in the warfare...) does that mean Vietnam are long overdue for payback?
