I have read the latest twist on Medicare. It is a prescription for doubling costs and reducing benefits. The system is fatally flawed because life vs. profits is criminal. If there is any sanctity to life, the health care system has to be operated and staffed by dedicated, altruistic humanitarian types who will be content with an adequate income and a simple, rational, humane lifestyle.

    We do exist.

The answer to the problem rests with the FCC.

Mass media generates mass money. The FCC erased the public from the money part of the equation in the 40s. The landmark Communications Act of 1934 began with good intentions. The latest Telecommunications Act of 1996 destroyed the last hope of equity and is heading to a monolith of propaganda for corporate oligarchs and political criminals.

Cash is the key to the problems; cash is the key to the solutions. It is inherent in the system as it is today that a few privileged groups become super-rich while “normal” people lose ground. It creates envy, greed and a lust for gold. The disparity between the income of hard working people is so great is discounts vital professions and injures the soul. Its effects on the political system alone are enough to want radical change BACK to original thinking. During WWII, the FCC froze everything and rewrote the rules. The commercial and propaganda value was apparent and too hard to resist. The public got sold out.

The mass-money mass-media produces could, and should, fund health and education. It may seem commie, but what we have now is worse. The revolutionary measure would solve several problems and cure our bodies and souls in the process. It is not commie, it is the ORIGINAL intent. What we have now is just plain criminal.

There really is no alternative. The present medical system is so corrupt, and causes so much horror and grief; the Marquis De Sade would wince.

Reagan’s FCC chairman, Mark Fowler, said, ”TV is just a toaster with pictures. It doesn’t need much regulation”. Nothing could be further from the truth. Since then it has been a giant trough for mega-media monopolies that threaten our democracy.

The Internet, or E-grapevine, is a force that hasn’t been appreciated for its potential to do what every government and tyrant fears most. Providing the masses, in real time, with information that exposes every horror and dirty trick since 1066. With pictures, sound, and interactive capabilities.

It is the revelation tyrants have always feared. They are the only ones with anything to lose. The poor already live in hell. The five billion wretched souls on this planet better get some hope for themselves or they will swarm like ants over the honey-pot the super-rich want all to themselves. A race to see who will be the first trillionaire had better not be won.

Radical times require radical change. Change will come anyway. This would be good change. The new model Bush spoke of in Britain will have to recognize realities like the ones above.

    It’s doable

This is not "communism" as frauds would call it.

It is a return to the equity that was in the original communications act.

It will not happen because we are a lost cause - a flawed system that has gone too far already.

If any of the "sanctified" candidates running for president suggested anything this sensible they would be treated worse then Dean or Sharpton.

    What a country of losers.

All civilized countries have health care for their citizens - all of them - except this barbarian empire of criminals.

I said civilized, not developed. There is obviously a difference.

    Incompetent:

You want to die - stay here.

Greedy fools think that this system is a healthcare system.

It is a corporate ripoff that costs a thousand times more than a non-profit, government run, legitimate system would cost.

    Get sick.

When I say developed nations, I mean what I said. I count all members of the United nations as civilised. See the difference?

It depends on the meaning of civilized. I don't think we have seen it yet on this planet. The species is too young to have developed into anything close to what we think we are.

If the behavior of the human race up until now is considered civilized, I am missing something.

We live fat and safe (somewhat) by killing and robbing on a scale Genghis Kahn would not believe - just in a different way - but not much different.

If there is any sanctity to human life healthcare is a given.

If it is a matter of money then we are cattle - nothing more.

Capitalism is not thriving. It is failing miserably. The Euro is replacing the dollar as the investment of choice because it has integrity - we no longer do.

Our 7 trillion dollar debt, war machine economy, and Wall Street ethical meltdown has busted us.

That is the primary reason for the war and the European bail out. They are waiting for us to fall - all they have to do is wait.

By not helping - they are showing that they are "anxious" for it to happen now.

We are cornered by our corruption and mindless greed.

Yes - we are barbarians. medical care is sacred if human souls are sacred. If not - quit the god crap and start killing the old, sick, disabled, and whoever else Hitler would round up.

Please grow up and get an education.

I studied Photographic Science and Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology.

I loved learning chemistry, physics, optics, photochemistry, etc.

I also took courses in biology and biochemestry.

The knowledge is great, but I did not want to devote all my time to one discipline.

It is necessary to be quite focused and oblivious to everything else to excel in one field. My brain is not wired that way.

I am not trying to tell anyone -or the world - how to live.

Mu autobiography is nothing to brag about and no-one would elect me a saint - more likely a criminal.

All I am doing is passing on observations and lessons learned over sixty years of education and experience.

I have accomplished a lot, in a lot of varied areas, and am retired quite comfortably in a beach condo.

For all intent and purposes I am a success, and old enough to die satisfied that I won the war of life.

My puny intellect is not a threat to anyone - it is just my mental exercise, and writing practice inspired by the war.

War is always a stimulating time - and a time for reflection.

Usually I am busy dancing on Clearwater Beach and could care less about the "world" at large.

I hope to be back in the sand next week when it is warmer.
