In order to habituate another planet successfully, it should be important to habituate our own earth with no casualties.

Religion is poison because it asks us to give up our most precious faculty, which is that of reason, and to believe things without evidence. It then asks us to respect this, which it calls faith. - Christopher Hitchens
Well on another planet like mars the average temperature is -63 degrees Celsius and Antarctica the minimum temperature is around -80 degrees Celsius. If we could inhabit Antarctica then it would be good practice for establishing an exploration mission to Mars. Granted the atmosphere on Mars is thin and we would have to build a facility to sustain life on Mars, like a space station on Mars. We can also build a station on Antarctica and practice an isolated environment similar to one we would transport to Mars.

It's possible that no one could survive on Mars for very long.
Just look at the problems NASA has faced:
"In dealing with its workforce issues, NASA shuttle program officials
will have to deal with a number of complicating
challenges. These include (1) meeting increased training needs deriving from
higher workforce levels, (2) ensuring adequate staffing levels for its
safety upgrade program, (3) attracting and retaining employees with critical
skills, and (4) achieving a higher projected flight rate in support of the
International Space Station compared with rates of recent years. NASA's
human capital problems can be seen as part of a broader pattern of human
capital shortcomings that have eroded mission capabilities across the
federal government."

Ah, I think I understand your OP now. Successful survival in this planets most extreme environments will be helpful for surviving on other planets. Yes, I agree.
Currently the most extreme environment we have access to is the international space station. I suspect many if not most of the experiments conducted on the ISS are about how humans cope with life in space. Living on Mars would be somewhat better I hope.

it is not logical you misunderstand the mars,it is a unique planet and earth can not be set as contrast, mars temperature is low simiilar as the antarctica but what about the water ,the food, keep in mind that the panguins have to eat in the sea ,you call it inhabitate means you must walk where ,have a intimate connection with the planet ,if you just stay in the space station ,along with your logic, man can survive in the deep space now .

Some may claim that Mars could adequately support human life, and maybe they have elaborate theories as to why -- but there's insufficient evidence for their models. If only their was a Life Support Button, you know? Then we could travel anywhere in the cosmos and magically live there.
Natural forces don't tend to listen to reason. You could beg them not to hurt you, but they will do what they do. That's unlikely to change for a long time, to say the least. We try to live in an ideal world, but reality just gobbles it up. So we should make loyal allies of reality and reason, here on earth.
